Cheers Farmer Giles, am glad I seem to be getting the hang of it now! hehe
No Jenna, haven't tried it yet... mainly as I still have a bit of hash that I have been smoking, soon as that goes it'll be open season I think! Anyway, the biggest of the 4 small plants came down today... she had turned some really pretty colours, golden yellow leaves with dark purple in places... the purple has transferred to the bud a little aswell... definately the prettiest plant I've grown so far, just wish I would stop burning them on the lamp! Pre-trim ![]() Post-trim ![]() And what is left to be chopped, the larger double-header and the big sativa thing lurking in the background... I think the smaller one will come down before monday, not sure about the beast ![]()

Belated thanx
![]() Hope all is well. Had no net connection for few months, but the drobe is carrying on its good work! Got hold of a 250w red enviro and have still been growing the same strain due to the being no shortage of the seeds! Plus I have been getting my cutting technique improved. Currently finishing off last 2 cuts from them for a while as I have got some new plants to fit in aswell! Gave a few of my old Nirvana Orangebud seeds to a mate who grew them out and found a spot on plant... a really stinky potent mo'fo that yields shitloads more than what I've been growing! ![]() Thankfully, he had took cuttings from it before flowering and I swindled one of them to keep as a mother, just got one clone from it vegged and tied up, ready to go in! Also have 2 plants that came from seeds resulting from an accidental pollentation of one of his orange buds by a bagseed plant that hermed, just popped 2 out of curiosity and am now running out of room! lol 1 of them has been squeezed into the drobe for 2 weeks and is looking decent, very different from what I have been growing up till now. Somehow I'll get 'em in, room will be freed up in the next week or so as 1 is due to finish soon... hehe. Anyway, some pics... Nearly there... ![]() Orangebudxbagseed top and old skunky strain bottom ![]() Orangebud cutting soaking up some rays! ![]() Orangebud cuts at various stage ![]() ![]()

Aye, busy is definately what they've been keeping me... had an outbreak of mites over the past month or so, just getting on top of them now (I think!) thanks to liberal applications of SBPI
![]() Just chopped the last of the old strain, will probably be the last time I grow it for a while... not ideal for the smallness of the drobe and my requirement for something a bit quicker, plus the mites seemed to magnetise towards that strain over the Nirvana plants... her weak hermie genes were too much of a lure to the little shitheads! Plus, got my hands on some new strains aswell! ![]() A really old pack of Skunk Red Hair from Nirvana, nostalgia in a pack! Though I hope I manage to actually get 'em to germ! A strain called Chocolate Chunk by Canadian breeders Cannacopia, which is Chocolate Trip x Deep Chunk Indica, can't wait to see what these bring! And last but certainly not least, a baggie full of seed from some Thai Stck that was at a party last weekend! Dunno what the exact genetics these will be, but it definately smelled and smoked like the real deal, so I expect some giant S.E Asian sativa madness... don't think these are a good idea for my 250w enviro/drobe set up, but I've put one in to germ anyway! ![]() If it pops I'll chuck it straight in on 12/12 and just play it by ear, I reckon I'll end up having to get the machete out in a month or two just to get near the drobe! hehe |

Hey guys, long time no see (again)
Unfortunately Jenna, the Chocolate Chunk didn't taste like chocolate ![]() However, it is a great strain, I have kept a mother of her that is the most stanky, weird smelling thing I have ever encountered, hard to describe the smells as they sometuimes smell sweet and floral, but sometimes weirdly savoury and spicy, this comes from the Deep Chunk in her genes I am told. Slow vegger, low yielder but AMAZING smoke! Here is a pic of the last clone of her I ran. ![]() yup, would look so much better without the spider mite damage, they're all but eradicated (again) now after another summer battling with them. ![]() Doesn't look too bad dry though! Have also extended my drobe of joy, it is now 2 drobes stuck together and housing a a 400w HPS/Cooltube set up, so bye bye to flowering under cfls, kind of have mixed feelings about that, but the larger yields soon made me realise the benefits! Also, I now have a dedicated veg/clone box using my old 125w envirolite, so it's not like I retired it! Anyway, that's all for now, here is another shot from my last grow to sign off, mostly OrangeBud with a sneaky Choc Chunk and a cross of my own lurking at the back. ![]() haha, a vast improvement since I started this thread I think, even if I do need to get something reflective on the wardrobe walls! Cheers all. Last edited by B.; 10-08-2011 at 12:16 PM. |

Cool pics. What else is in Choc Chunk apart from deep chunk?
Cool tubes are great. What ballast are you using? If it's a regular type magnetic sodium compatible one, you might try ceramic metal halide bulbs. Paint the wardrobe walls with matt white paint, it's almost as good as mylar. Good to see you round. What's hot in Detroit Techno?

Chocolate Chunk is;
Chocolate Trip x Deep Chunk Dunno much about the Chocolate Trip other than it's a Chocolate Thai hybrid by the now defunct Dutch Flowers seedbank, and a popular cut floats around BC, Katsu cut I think it is called. Just using a standard Marine Lux 400w ballast, it came with the light I got from a friend, seems very basic and I shall replace it as soon as I can afford to I think, works for now though. Yeah, deffo going to paint the drobe, I have some mylar, but not enough I think and I hate anything that resembles wallpapering! lol Not sure what is new in Detroit Techno at the moment, seems to be a bit of a resurgence recently in the North West, but most new techno I hear is a bit rubbish tbh. Went to see Dopplerefekt last weekend though, that is one ticked off the list! Though it wasn't a full on show, they where just participating in some physics lecture and made some noise towards the end. Gerald Donald seems a nice enough bloke, really tall aswell! |

Gerald Donald is a techno god and a humble bloke to boot.
Edit- dunno about the marine lux with cmh's, I'd have to look at the tech sheet. TBH I always found sodium never made my plants happy, they love MH but the yields aren't as good.

Cheers, nice thread!
I seem to have got a handle on the mites now, but as I've done that I've noticed a few Thrips buzzing around the place. Goddamnit!! Luckily my death spray of choice also caters for those little shitheads aswell, but I have stopped spraying in the drobe as they've all started frosting up now and I don't like spraying anything, no matter how organic, beyond that point. So its just manual squashing, Mr Miyagi style mid air catching etc etc until chop day. Then I think I shall clear the drobe, disinfect it and paint it white! |

I'd love to set up a big room like that, especially if it was legal, haha.
Am working my way in that direction though, my grow seems to get bigger each year. Anyway, just chopped my latest bunch of girls, 4 clones of an Orange Bud cross I've had for a while and 2 bagseed Thai plants, all turned out rathr well though I chopped them all at 9 weeks whereas the "Thai" plants could have gone longer for sure. Some pics. Smaller of the 2 Thai plants, was flowered in a 7" pot, lol. ![]() Bigger Thai flowered in 6 litre pot, nice weird purple effect on the bud leaves. ![]() Orange Bud shot. ![]() Found this interesting aswell, two cuts of the same plant grown together... ...the one on the left was at the back and received just enough light, the one on the right was probably a bit too close to the light. The difference in the way the bud has developed is mad, the one that was in a shaded position has developed the most perfect looking buds but a little on the small side. The one too close to the light has developed massive chunks for buds, much higher yielding as to be expected I suppose, but the calyxes are much smaller and tightly bunched, stress from being a little too warm has made it look like a completely different plant. Shows how important getting environment perfect is if you want to grow perfect bud. |
