Nirvana Chrystal ([White Widow x Northern Lights] x Northern Lights)
so, i was going to get a camera, but i also needed a new cell phone, so i had to get the phone instead of the camera. hopefully i will be able to pick one up in a couple weeks. anyways, this is my current grow, nirvanas chrystal, which is white widow rebackcrossed to northern lights. it's a decent strain, but nothing exotic. good head/body balance though. germed five seeds, all sprouted. two plants showed preflowers during veg, one being male. culled the male, put the other plants into 12/12 @ 27 days after sprouting. the other three plants turned out to be female. as of 11/15 ive started to count, so day 2 of flower they're on, and they are starting to stretch. nice and bushy.
these pics were taken with my new cell's camera. yeah, they suck ass. the pics dont even come close to doing the plants justice. they actually look a hell of a lot better irl.

Looking green and healthy as far as I can tell, not too stretchy
.Chrystal may be a cheap Nirvana strain but it has won prizes. Can you give any details of your set up, are you running flouros or HID?

im running a 400w switchable ballast. mh and hps. grown in a small closet.
for my medium, i use a modified lc mix. my mix consists of: peat perlite ewc (2 brands, blue ridge & wiggle worms for more bio-diversity) humus calcitic lime azomite greensand blood bone kelp bio-tone starter + 10 - 20% recycled medium w/ added ewc/humus from previous grow i mix up the base soil with 4 parts peat, 4-1/2 parts perlite, 2 parts ewc, 1/2 part humus. also added to base soil is c. lime, azomite, greensand, liquid karma, blackstrap mollasses, and lacto bacilli culture. for every cubic foot of medium, i also add 1/8 cup of kelp meal, and a sprinkle of epsoma bio-tone starter +. kelp has hormones in it that promote root growth, but theres not enough in the mix to burn seedlings and it helps the micro-organisms in the soil, and the bio-tone + for the same reasons. after it sits for about two weeks, it's good to go for gemination, and i take out what i need. then i add the ferts and then the recycled medium. i consider my grows "organic-based" but not 100% organic because i do use a couple of non-organic things. i use superthrive for germination, seedlings, and transplants. i use earthjuice microblast throughout the grow. and liquid karma itself is organic based, but not 100% organic. i alternate between waterings what i give them as far as suppliments. i give them 1 tsp of microblast and 1 tblsn of blackstrap every two weeks, and i give them 1 tsp liquid karma every other watering. once a week, i top dress a couple of handfulls of ewc and/or humus and scratch it into the surface of the medium and water in. the water i use is about 90% r/o water, 10% dechlorinated tap. that's about it.

lol! my thread is weak. sorry bout that. anyways, if anyone knew, ive been out of a job now for a little bit, and right now im living on unemployment and my moms helping me out, so ive been out job hunting and working odd jobs under the table with a buddy of mine and havent had time to post on the internet and shit, and also, i still havent gotten a new camera, so still using my phone. also, ive been so broke i havent had really any extra $$$ for really anything other than bills, food, basics and shit, so i cant afford bud right now. so, that will explain the four shitty, blurry photos of my plants.
i had four plants that were female, they quickly outgrew my little closet, so i culled two around four weeks into flower. the two i chose were the ones i liked the best, one being a shorter, stockier plant that now has a typical donkey dick cola and would have several nice sized side branches if i didnt already take them down because i wanted some fuckin weed (dont judge, you'd do it too during hard times). i also cleared out all of the tiny popcorn buds on the lower halves of both plants. and the other plant is a taller, lankier sativa leaning pheno (but it wasnt the most sativa leaning out of all four), with a cola the length of a 1 liter soda bottle. i also removed a couple lower branches of this plant aswell (but not as many as the other plant). the plants are on their 8th week today, and as you can see (or not), the leaves are yellowing and the lower fans are/have dying/died off. that's exactly what i want, as this is basically "flushing" a medium with ferts added to it. you want the plants to use up any excess nutrients in the medium, and then to consume it's stored deposits. less minerals and flame retardant materials in your bud, the better. this strain can go for up to 12 weeks, depending on what phenotype you decided to grow out. oddly enough, the sativa leaning plant is looking farther along than the indica leaning one, with more amber trichs (still not enough, tho), most pistils have turned brown with a lack of newer ones, whereas the other one has a good amount of fresh pistils left, and even less aber trichs. so, im going to say about a week to a week and a half for the sativa, and a week and a half to two for the other. this strain packs on a little more weight too, right at the end, so you want to make sure you dont chop too early. anyways, that's it. besides ewc, i have all the ingredients to do another round before spring/summer, so im going to run off the nirvana pure power plant beans that i got for a freebie last order. this time, theyll make it through the entire grow unscathed. ![]() first two pics are of the indica pheno second two are the sativa pheno.

Looks like you got a pretty nice harvest coming up.
Do you grow at your mom's? She knows? If so that's pretty cool. At least you won't have to suffer through this hard time without bud! Prolly don't wanna unload any either since it'll be a while til next goround. Good luck with the job search.I ended up scrogging mine. What a difference it made for me. Yours look respectable so if I had the height (to grow w/out a scrog) ours probly wouldve looked very similar. I've had some schwag sitting around, but honestly, even premature - the buds from early pickings are faaaaar better than the nasty shit I've had. So I've taken from the undergrowth as well. Not worried, theres plenty on top for later. And even at 6-7 weeks, the shit's nice and potent... taste is still green, but still better than schwag. I ended up clipping 3/8ths the screen today at 9 full weeks. Nirvana says it's a 9-11 weeker. I'll clip the next bit at 10 weeks (nxt Sat) and leave a good bit for week 11 final harvest. I'll separate out the 3 week's loots and cure it all up and see if there's much of a difference btw 9 10 & 11 weeks. And figure out where I like it best. I took a few cuts from the original from seed. 1's a mom and the other 2 are finishing up two weeks after the orig. So I'll do a perpetual with this Chrystal for now. Got the bubbleponics cloner going for the first time. We'll see if it works better than rooting in soil. Next it'll go into the new bubblepods to give hydro a try. Good luck with yours. Stay productive with the job search. Don't let the medi quality sedate you too much!

wow!
Some fat buds there, nice one! I love Nirvana, annoys me when you see people dismissing them as hacks... which they freely admit to being... as its a good way to provide solid genetics at realistic prices! Anyway, fantastic looking plants, hope you enjoy the fruits! |
