Will critters be a possible problem once moved outdoors?
That molasses really attracts all kinds of strays.....~ There's a Critter Control thread somewhere's....if u can't find...let someone know! Then, there's the grass hoppers.....do they tend to be a problem in the area??

Grasshoppers are a big problem in he area! I need to spend some more time at my site as it is at 4000 + elevation I'm not sure if they'll be as bad up there. Would I still be able to give them a foliar feeding with mollasses later in the season or is that no good with the hoppers?
As for critters we don't really have deer to worry about, never seen a rabbit round where ill be but I wouldn't be suprised if they're up there. Lots of raCcoons possum and squirrel but they won't be after my ladies will they? Searching for the crtter control forum. |

there's a thread i seen recently....Slunt started it, i believe. that one adresses pest control... Any bear or other desrtuctive type animals? Racoons will be drawn to the molasses, they will chew on the stems....so be sure to keep moth balls and dog hair all around the outdoor perimeter.....i've use wood ashes too will small containers of used motor oil. I have been using a powder for aphrids that i get at Canadian Tire....the hoppers are only a problem for a short while here....but after every rain be sure to go check to make sure the babies are properly doused. Let us know of any new developments....~

lots of blackbears... any ideas for them?
So they have been vegging under a 24 hr light and had to be alone for about 4 days i didnt think it would be a problem i just moved the T12's about 8 inches away from the tallest plant and thought they'd be good. Got home today and poor trainwreck had a nasty burn on one of her leaves. It was about 1/3 of one finger so i removed the damaged part and decided to put them outside until i can consistently be at the house again. Also on one of the smaller plants today i noticed some light brown/yellow discoloration around the edges of the first leaf set.. is this just a nute burn? they've only had one feeding and the batch of tea i mad was weak to say the least! 2 gal water 1 tsp indonesian guano 1/4 tsp mexican guano 2 tsp mollasses 1 tsp maxicrop. |

*the burn on trainwreck was due to the fact they had grown up to the lights didnt know if that was clear or not. Its amazing how big they're getting! 6 of the 9 had grown the 8 inches and were touching the fluros after 4 days... pics soon

The bear is a very curious animal....you're in his territory remember that...!! He will walk where you've walked and turn everything upside down...he's far from shy! I wish you LUCK with Blackie...Be as persistant as they are....keep the scents fresh and you stand a chance! As far as the ferts....take it easy on them while they're young. That soil recipe is substantial...get some 14-14-14 for when they get transplaned outdoors....we like slow-------releasers~

Diagnosed my nute problem... guess i had a K deficiency due to too much sodium in the water I'd been using. Flushed with creek water... gonna have to suck it up and just start getting my water from the creek down the road. (was using filtered water from the sink.
Today was gorgeous! seeing as we had our first big rain yesterday, temps are up and i dindt have class decided to take the long hike up to my growsite and see if i couldn't luck out and find some morels along the way. About 15 minutes into the hike found a nice little patch of 6 brown morels... shud go great with dinner. I really wish i didnt have to waste my time with stuff like work and school I'd be a much happier man if i could spend 100% more of my time outside. All in due time . Any way got to the site early afternoon was estatic about the quality of the soil ... this stuff is loose airy DARK black and dank. Looks like im not gonna have as many heavy packs as i thought to haul in . Will be using a lot of dolomite though there are tons of sapling evergreens around. There have been many forest fires in this area in the last ten years so once the ladies are about waste high they wont have any competition for sun. My biggest concern going into this season has been water. It is a gnarly hike to my spot I'm a pretty experienced hiker and i have a tough time. I was not looking forward to carrying a water laden pack here once a week or more! It's supposedly a dry mountain but i thought hell whats it gonna hurt so i hiked down the back side of the mountain ( away from home ) and sure enough ders water in dem hills!!! a little more than a mile down i ran across a spring that formed a beautiful mountain brook ( see pics ) by now im in a great mood... no more worries about taking stealth trips upon trips to the site i now get to start planning for a drip system .Decided to keep hiking downstream i didnt have shit else to do today and i wasn't ready to go home. 3 miles down from the start of the stream i found a empty 6 pack of bud light ****ing rednecks. As im loading them into the pack next to my beautiful morels im thinking i may need to move the site... i dunno the cans are old definately from last summer or earlier but im putting too much effort into this for some fool to find my spot.. It is at least 4-5 miles from the cans to my site and believe me there are no trails I've checked all the maps and you have to weasel your way through thick patches of brambles to get there. anyways check out my water source and some other shit my stoned ass saw fit to photograph... if any1 made it to the end of that ramble i commend you |

Ladies are finally back in the veg room after a week in the sun. Added 4 CFL's to accompany the T12's already in there. Couldnt be at the house to move up the T12's as much as I've been needing to so i thought it'd be good to introduce them to some sunlight b4 they go out for good. They responded great to the sun, no shock problems. Caught a case of spider mites while they were out there though. 20 of those little bastards fell to my forefinger and thumb last night and i couldnt see any this morning. Being my first grow i have no experience with them. How do you control them outdoors? Any1 have a product reccomendation?

Heres the latest.... spider mites dead for now now i have damn nats everywhere in the closet got an organic bug control soil soak/ foliar spray coming in the mail so hopefully that'll take care of that. Finally got a Ph meter.. was at 7.3
flushed the soil and i'm getting consistent readings of 7 now... would still like to be lower. Im pretty sure thats the culprit of my yellow/brown/ dying lower foliage. Only really happened to 2 plants and im not even sure if they're gonna make the final cut. Anyone have a suggestion for lowering Ph?
