we finally figured out how to add files properly, as SOULASSASSIN said they are getting extremely tall, just as a note, SOUL ASSASSIN (in the photos ) is roughly 5 foot 6 inches, the two plants are now towering over the fence, and they aren't even bushy yet

so here's the latest update from the outdoor canadian growers, the plants are still growing higher and bushier, we now have a little bit of situation with the fact that both plants are taller than the fence, luckily our neighbours are old and super cool, we started talking to them, and she told us how she went to the last grateful dead concert, and her son went off to smoke it up, so were not worried about her, its more so for our parents sake, however we don't know what to do, how can we get it to come below the fence height and not get ruined, otherwise we might come out and it could be cut down one morning

Nice plants, I have no idea how to train them below the fence line this late in the growth.

thanks, we are really proud of how well they are coming for having them being a little late planting, yeah we are not sure what we are going to do, we are so afraid of hurting or worse killing the plant, we are trying to find solutions in books and all that sorts of stuff, once we have an idea we will post it up, but omg the buds are slowly forming and the crystal formation is gorgeous

if you secure the pots well to the ground the plant should only take a week of adjusting to bend right over
something simple like a few tent pegs and some rope, soften the rope at the stem with some natural fabric
you'll find it pretty easy to adjust one a day
i'd put one rope 1/3rd up, and another 2/3rds up
keep the sun in mind, dont direct it into shade
light penetration will be heaps better, especially to the lower parts, so your buds will start kicking along
peace

thanks for the advice, our plants arent in pots, they are directly in the ground so we dont have to worry about the pots, i think we will give it a try tomorrow, i was also thinking like almost making a y with sticks and like trying to have to rest, i think im more afraid that with the wind, if its slightly bent over with rope, that if a storm comes through. the rope would get to tight and tear the stem in half

it could happen, but unlikely
much more likely the wind will just speed up the process for you
if you are concerned you should attach more ropes, that will decrease the distance between stress points and be much nicer on your plant
plants in the wild need to endure stress perhaps i'm a little cruel like that

Mmm so the plan is Tomorrow after I awake I shall go outside and attempt to see which way the plant moves most freely then tie it so it is secure. I hope this works and allows proper penetration of the light onto all branches, but i figure if the branches don't seem to get enough light i will tiethem outwards as well. Does anybody think this is a bad idea?

No the plants were not topped, although we had topped one plant and it sadly passed away and the other turned out a male o well and the plants are much bushier now.

i think the reason why the topped plant died was cuz we topped it too late into the growing process, we are definitely going to try topping a few next year though, we have decided to we want to try like growing eight plants, lol

hahahahaha cerebro, ur not cruel, ur right about the plants having to endure stress, im just paranoid i guess, i want it to be perfect, since we have to split the profits with tomatoe farmers bro, i want there to be as much profit as possible, so that we get a huge chunk of profit, next year we are doing it all alone so the bro wont get any, even though the bro isnt doing any of the labor this year with the plants

When you tie down tall plants-things get tricky, 'cause the stem is not that pliable....in order to train it to start bending a certain way-start small.........use a few strings attached to say heavy rocks or bricks.

slowly the stretch will happen.........the leaves will have no problem adapting

Thanks PG that is nice to know and I have bent them but its more so tied out with a few strings the opposite way of the fence the plants have a bit of slack so they can adjust but should still bend but ya the buds are still facing the sun as they have always been

A few pictures of the plants tied down, they are still growing upwards which is nice because almost all areas get sun and the back of the plant is receiving more then it did in the past. I think I like it how it is and the plants are adapting finely.

^ I was a little drunk when taking the pictures for her and in the last picture attempting to show the thickness of the stem.... clearly i failed at that
