first of all weed hates swampy areas an flooding dig three or four hole's in ur wanted grow area.

they should be about 1 1/2 feet deep 6 inches wide, pour water into the hole an wait for it to drain away, then fill it up again...

come back next day an fill agian, then check regurlary to how long before water drains away:

less then 1/2 inch in 1 hr poor drainage
1 1/2 inch to 1 inch per 1 hr is slow but accetable
1-4 inches in 1 hr is ideal

Faster than 4 inches in an 1 hr shows that the soils holds little moisture!
