After 30 years of experimental outdoor growing I have developed a modified guerrilla technique that works for me. It involves dryland farming techniques.
I select a hollow with super good soil, clear the brush and work the soil to at least 12". The trick is to work it at certain times of the year and conserve the moisture from rainfall. I go in in April and plant see directly in moist soil and I don't return untill male pulling time. The plants don't require any additional water and other wild plants come up and naturalize the area. I only have one patch this year, I need to have backup patches because there is always the chance of discovery or depredation of some sort.

Maximum sunlight is the most important factor.
Compost, and manure are vital to the guerilla growers soil for their moisture retaining properties. Since Dan's posts last year on Humic Acid I've been experimenting with Humates, they seem to improve many aspects of soil quality....including water retention. I use those water crystals too.

I updated this grow in my GTGH Ongoing Updates thread, kinda had different hopes that this thread would be of use to others. Not much was suggested to me in this thread, from memory.
Doc suggested drilling to the water table, but I grow less than ten plants a season so that's no good.
I dont have indoor facility to start clones etc.
I havent started with fem seeds yet because I've been lucky enough to be gifted other top strains to test, but will one day.
Yeah, so I did get a harvest. Enough to last me twelve months.
Here's a pic of the bud in the jar.

Yeah, I know most of that.
It doesn't change the fact that I have a wife and 3 kids......some things are more important to me than pot. Most of the plants I grow are testers, so the cost of beans is zero. Basically, I grow for head stash only, I grow enough for 12 months, so I'm happy enough as is.
I have no desire to give gear about, or to sell it.
If I grew more I'd just have to smoke it.

I'm collecting bagseed and seeds from friend's bags.

Hopefully set up a 10-15 female grow, which probabaly means 30 seeds.

Guerrilla for the win.

Hi guys.

To all outdoor growers. I am a virgin outdoor grower with a big plot of land. A few questions.

1) I am planting straight into ground. The soil has been turned over several time and alot of roots have been taken out to reveal nice spongy soil (the time of things you see in grow bags (I think????) Should I drop some lime (dolomite in there)?

2) I have a pile of rotting straw too. Will this add to the benefitting to the soil?

3) Spacing? When planting seeds straight in guys how much space between them? My plot is 27ft x 3ft. How many seeds can I sow in there?

4) If I start growing mid June will this give me time for a good yield (Northern Spain is my location)? This a full-time thing in the summer but only one outdoor yield a year of course.

Hope you can help guys.

1. pH related. probably not a bad idea, but test pH first.
2. yes, especially with a dry season.
3. Probably 2 rows, space seeds 1-2ft
4. Should be plenty.

What's that on the surface inside the tire round the base of the plant Pharm? Just the soil or sand or something to keep varmints and weeds away?
