Aum or Om

Typical.. i buy a t-shirt with it on.. then i find out what its about. I first heard about Om in a book about chakras and i think it was the chant one must do in order to open the crown or the third eye chakra.

The symbol of Om contains of three curves, one semicircle and a dot. The upper curve symbolizes the waking state; the lower curve denotes deep sleep (or the unconscious) state, and the right-side curve (which lies between deep sleep and the waking state) signifies the dream state. These three states of an individual’s consciousness, and therefore the entire physical phenomenon, are represented by the three curves. The dot signifies the Absolute (fourth or Turiya state of consciousness), which illuminates the other three states. The semicircle symbolizes Maya and separates the dot from the other three curves. The semicircle is open on the top, which means that the absolute is infinite and is not affected by maya. Maya only affects the manifested phenomenon. In this way the form of Om symbolizes the infinite Brahman and the entire Universe and the world. Aum is made out of the three gods Shiva and Ganesh and Gayatri.

om mani pade hum...

om is the silence that clears the head. when in meditation (yoga or otherwise), chanting om is supposed to be the sound of nothing, and of everything. focusing on om can help open certain chakras. good ideas, but i don't meditate too much.

I'm going to have to correct Jam Cruiser. OM is a primordial hum/vibration that awoke the first entity: Brahma (not the aspect of God Brahma, but the first physical being Brahma). It does not at all represent nothingness.

It's all good bud, just trying to authenticate a bit.

EDIT: To go a bit further, the source of this hum/vibration is the energy of God.

So its basically saying the EXACT SAME THING IVE SAID!

The fourth area is the source. Its where elias says hes from:

as well as Jane Roberts' "Seth" ghost.

Here's another consciousness model encorporating 4 areas (quadrants in this case).
