Whose your favorite philosopher?

The topic says it all.

Who is your favorite philosopher, or any other great beings of influence?

Why?

I don't really know if I have a favorite philosopher, I mean I like the way Plato expresses things...

I really enjoy Nietzsche because I agree with alot of his views, though some of his work I still don't get, I agree with what I understand.

...Aristotle, well, I think Aristotle is boring but I have been reading some of his work a lot more lately and as boring as it is, it's still extremely interesting and I am always glued to the subjects at hand.

And for the rest of the great philosophers, there all great in there own way, and with that said, I think that's kind of why I can't pick a favorite.. I mean they all have there own knowledge and views, and there own contribution.

What do you think?

I'd say that everyone of the USA's founding fathers should be included. Ben Franklin in particular.

^ do you mean machiavelli?

For me, Jesus is THE main man. I listen to others as well, though.

For understanding people, I especially like Freud and CG Jung

Meh. Machiavelli had some nice ideas, and he is an important writer for anyone into politics, but his "Il Principe" should be read in a historical context... It's much like Sun Tzu's "Art of War", in the sense that both are strategical manuals wich deal with problems relevant to the times they where written in, but some of the ideas proposed in those books can be modernised.
