Prayers

Do you believe in the power of the words that we say under our breath every now and then?

Have you ever witnessed little or big things change after praying?

We all know that prayer “helps” in recoveries and do help the healing. Just like music, it’s a nonmedical treatment. Prayer is a form of meditation and during meditation, an intense activity begins to take place in the brain's parietal lobe circuits - those that control a person's orientation in space and establish distinctions between self and the world. At the same time, frontal and temporal lobe circuits - which track time and create self-awareness - becomes disengaged (hopefully, I’m right at these).

Now, this basically means that our body reacts physically when we pray.
Now what I’m wondering is; is this whole thing about having a view or are we really connecting to a higher being and getting the help from there? Or is it just a way our mind works to order our body to repair itself? When someone has something to live for, a solid view, an aim or a loving family and kids, they tend to survive more than those who don’t. Because they want to survive. They put extra effort in fight for living, they try harder to stay alive.

Any views?

Prayer, like meditation and contemplation, is a powerful way to affect cognition of subtlties which may not be apparent to the conscious awareness. These are ways of tapping into the sub-conscious, whence a wide array of ailments (physical, mental, and spiritual) are easily realized and corrected.

I think prayer is very powerful. It fits right into the Thought, Word, Action process which you use to guide your life. I'm pretty careful about what I pray for. I try not to "wish" for things...I have this discomforting feeling that when you wish for something, it's like declaring to the universe that you don't have it. I condition my brain...or rather, try to reverse the conditioning done to it in childhood...to be motivated and content simutaniously.

I think prayer is a translation of intention. You ask God, because you do not believe in your ability to manifest something for yourself, but you do believe it can be manifested. Either way, intent enters the equation. If it is powerful enough, then the result is the same. Supernatural entity or simply yourself, it works out the same.

We're here... we're on earth. This earth is set up with specific physical laws for a reason. We experience this life linear because we wanted to do so. If there are discrepancies between what you believe then the power is lost.
There is a higher light being .... love .... a Father (or a father and a mother). A being who, IN HIM, we recognize one another as brothers and sisters.
