Looking at my shelf there aren't many new books at all. Nice find Verk. Used is the way to go, unless you are looking to mark it up yourself, fresh.

Just got finished with Kitchen Confidential by Anthony Bourdain. I started it a few months ago and haven't had much time to read more than a few pages here and there. Damn good book though.

Now I'm not sure what to read. I'm thinking about starting I Hope They Serve Beer In Hell or maybe The Vampire Lestat. I have all the books in the Vampire Chronicles but I haven't ready any of them but the first.

Those teach yourself books are really good for religions and getting a basic understanding, so I hope the language ones are good as well.

I'm about finished with ' The Red Tent ' and about to take a cut out of Tao of Piglet, which I sat down for the one I'm reading now.

Plus whatever else may happen when I walk past our shelf.

Well, finished up with "The Red Tent". It wasn't a bad read at all. It's kind of cool to read an alternative history through fiction. I particularly enjoyed reading about the goddess side of belief, faith and practice.

Probably going to get onto the "Te of Piglet" book as of now. However I have a few on the goes that I can also pick up from good stopping points. Namely, "The Tibetan Book of Living and Dying", which is in sections of Life and Death. I have a new used book by Bede, which is about the history of England and the Church, but might go with something eastern or non-christian at least since I'm getting enough of that when i volunteer.

What are you all reading right now?

^ From what I understand and know of Aboriginal/First Nations Education. I really like it as a model in its approach. It fits my view of life for sure and think it's fantastic they are popping up more year after year over this way.

Catcher in the Rye. In honor of the passing of a troubled genius. And also because it's a great, great book. An American voice like no other. And if anybody says "whiny" I'll have it out with you.

-A book on Catholicism because the Spiritual counseling centre I volunteer at has lots of Catholics and there are some basics I feel I should know.
-A Christian centric book about why people are so interested in 'new' spiritual paths. It's an easy read, but was done by a sociologist so it's pretty fair in just taking the answers to questions with out a lot of extra things said.
