Mr. Marley helps me through tough days with these simple yet encouraging lyrics.

"Don't worry about a thing. 'Cause every little thing is gonna be alright."

Right about now, those words are really hitting home. Thanks for the reminder, Bob!

reminds me of a buddhist saying...

"If you understand, it happens. If you don't understand it happens"

It's really what you do with that journey, imo, rather than where you end up.

"The journey is the destination"

Is another favourite.

This is very similar to the idea of Buddha nature.

Good ole' perennial philosophy.

Yes! And I noticed something...
  • Moses found Hayah (I AM) "out of the midst" (centered in) of a "bush burned (properly kindled) with fire"
  • Buddha found dharma under the bodhi (enlightenment/awakening) tree
  • Hindus (some) seek truth in Soma/Chandra, known as "one who illuminates the night" (Chandra in Sanskrit also means the moon). Chandra Shekara literally refers to the 'Person who wears the moon' which links to Lord Shiva in Hindu Mythology and his holy plant is Ganja (Soma).
  • Jesus revealed himself as well. "This beginning of miracles (commencement of indication) did Jesus in Cana of Galilee ("incense of the heathen", that is, of the non-jews), and manifested forth his glory; and his disciples believed on him." -- John 2:11
  • Jesus said "Take, eat: this is my body." (1Cor 11:24)
Care to take a wild guess what the Greek word translated "Body" is?
"Body" in Greek is Soma, meaning the body (as a sound whole). From sozo, meaning to save, that is, deliver or protect (literally or figuratively)
We speak to the five kingdoms of the plants with soma the most excellent among them. The darbha-grass, hemp, and mighty barley: they shall deliver us from calamity! (Atharva Veda VII:14-15)
Regarding Buddha:
"The Indian Vedas praised cannabis as able to provide everything from good health to a channel to their gods. Buddhist tradition holds that Buddha ate one hemp seed a day during the six steps of asceticism that led to his enlightenment." -- Chapter 1 of H.E.M.P. book by Paul Benhaim
Question:
When you sit under and apple tree you eat apples. Orange tree... oranges. It is very curious to me that Buddha would be eating hemp seeds while sitting under the Bodhi (Sacred Fig) Tree rather than figs, unless, perhaps, Hemp is the true "Sacred Fig" Bodhi "Tree". Does anyone have thoughts or insight on on this?

I always read it as a grain of rice a day.

Although, am familiar with the cultural progress that many cultures made in all areas regarding the hemp plant and its flowers, as I read it. But can attest to the places it has helped me reach or make known. After a time I found it wasn't needed to achieve these places and have since practiced and prayed while not under it's effects,29/30times.

Soma is also in Vedic literature/belief/mythology and was personified as a deity.

Yes, the Vedic Lunar Deity Soma. Full moon is the time to collect and press the divine drink. The moon is also the cup from which the gods drink Soma, and so Soma became again identified with the moon god Chandra. He is connected with dew, and as such, is one of the gods of fertility.

Soma - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Chandra - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

For so the LORD said unto me, I will take my rest, and I will consider in my dwelling place like a clear heat upon herbs, and like a cloud of dew in the heat of harvest. (Isa 18:4)
And additional reference identifying the "herbs" as Soma/Chandra, it seems.

There And Back Again - Daughtry

Take, take your time.
Smell the roses, but steal the vines.
Don't wait for the hands of time
To second guess and change your mind.
Now shine.
Here's your moment to shine.
Shine.

Lay it down, my friend.
Close your eyes, breathe in,
And I'll take you there and back again.
No more questions why.
I'm not so surprised
Why you have
Been there and back again.

Replace, replace that line
That spoke to you
But showed no signs
To be alive.
So are you living or dead?
Have you made a choice to hear your voice
Or hold on to what they said?
Now, shine.
Here's your moment to shine.
Shine.

Lay it down, my friend.
Close your eyes, breathe in,

And I'll take you there and back again.
No more questions why.
I'm not so surprised
Why you have
Been there and back again.

From tomorrow on I will be sad
From tomorrow on
Not today, today I will be glad
And every day
no matter how hard it may be
I will say
From tomorrow on I will be sad
And not today.

Have you read any Victor Frankl? He developed an entire psychological theory based on his experienced in camps and those who survived..

Nonviolent direct action seeks to create such a crisis and foster such a tension that a community which has constantly refused to negotiate is forced to confront the issue.

Yes. I read Man's Search for Meaning by Victor Krankle. I don't agree with the logorythmic idea, although it is a scientific plus that it was explored as an idea. It helped to birth the Cognitive Behavioural Therapy treatments which ARE of great import and use in the metal health world.
I didn't like reading the book though. Knowing it was so ...helplesss.. even though thats the poiint..

Honestly I find that when I smoke it makes my mind more a whirl and this leads to me feeling less relaxed, that is to say, it's more difficult to calm myself overall. This isn't how I started for me a long time ago, but I feel as time has passed the scales have tipped. How I act and think when smoking hasn't ever changed, but in my meditations and postures of stretching, it has gotten me to a place that it now unsettles me from more often than not. I find it more useful for moving meditation/work/walk/groceries ect....

Does that makes sense?
