Spiritual Awakening

It's been a long while since I've even visited this site, let alone posted anything.
I've been on a journey that is so complicated and at it's core so simple.
My religious revolution became my spiritual evolution.
I once saw through a veil of judgement, fear, anger, and hate.
I was given a gift. I literally woke up on Sunday morning as though it was the first time I opened my eyes.
Since that day, each moment gets better than the one before it.
Not in any way other than the awareness of that moment.
I now realize the beauty in every single thing-being or not.
Love flows through everything.
Pay attention.
Allow Love to lift the black lace from your soul so you may experience the universe the way you were meant to; with clarity, openness, and above all, Love in the purest sense of the word.
That is the message I got, and continue to get as I listen.
Has anyone else here had an 'awakening' like this?

I don't know if I've 'been awakened', but I have had days when I felt like everything was really obvious and life itself was love and the fullness of the truth in that.

I've had only interrupted glimpses of the moments you describe... I know they're always within reach

Indeed. Some days it's slip a rung, climb two, but no matter what anyone says, it only gets better the more you focus on it.

Only now am I beginning to understand that^.
But I haven't even scratched the surface and that thrills me to no end!

Ego- the quote about fear is ringing true for me. I woke up with no fear, and that was the only thing holding me back from experiencing LIFE.

That's awesome! I've had something similiar to that but I wish mine was as progressive to my life as yours. Like I've gotten sober yippy! But I still live this limbo hermet life when everyone should know and love me by now.

It's good to see you back as well.

Fear seems to be the bottleneck of all spiritual wisdom. In Carlos Castaneda's series, Don Juan spoke of four 'enemies' through the path to wisdom.

Quote:
Don Juan tells Castaneda that there are four inner obstacles he must overcome: fear, clarity, power, and old age. These four elements are both obstacles as well as necessary preconditions.

1. Fear
If we give in to fear we will never conquer it. We must not run away. We must defy our fear. To become knowledgeable [=enlightened] we must first be afraid and then we must overcome the fear. [There is only one thing we must fear: and that is fear itself.] Once we have vanquished fear, we are free from it for the rest of our lives because, instead of fear, we have acquired clarity -- a clarity of mind which erases fear.

2. Clarity
And thus we will encounter our second enemy: Clarity! That clarity of mind, which is so hard to obtain, dispels fear, but also blinds. It forces us never to doubt ourselves. Clarity will give a false sense of knowledge and stop us from continuing the path of knowledge [=enlightenment]. [Clarity will enable us to see. We will see anything and therefore we will lose modesty. We will think we have reached the end, the highest level. We have not yet realized that there is more. Despite the fact that we can see with clarity there are things beyond our scope, outside our vision. There are still things to learn.] We must do what we did with fear: we must defy our clarity and use it only to see. [We must stay humble and remain with a desire to learn, become knowledgeable, become enlightened.] Once we have overcome our second enemy, we will arrive at a position where nothing can harm us anymore. We will have power.

3. Power
But we will also come across our third enemy: Power! With the power available to us we will feel invincible. We command; we make rules, we are masters. But this also can lead to our downfall. Power can turn us into cruel, capricious men. We have to learn when and how to use the power. [Anything we do affects other people or the environment and we are responsible for them as well.] We have to come to realize that the power we have seemingly conquered is in reality never ours. Clarity and power without control is dangerous. [We have to control the power or it controls us.]

4. Old Age
Now the last of our enemies will attack: Old age! We have to overcome the desire to rest. This struggle will never end. [We will never be perfect. But it is our responsibility to use our powers/talents, instead of being idle.]
I don't feel we are in any one stage at any given time, at least entirely. I do feel we fluctuate, but there is a definite sense of linear movement through them. It seems the whole goal is to remain humble and confident. Who would have thought?

I love that what I used to read in here all seemed like gibberish...until now.
Not that I completely understand anything, because I don't.
It's just opening yourself up to that possibility that, for me, unleashed joy and released fear.
What an amazing world we live in. I cannot wait to discover more.

Ego, thanks for reminding me of that!

I've passed the love and clarity stages quite long ago. I realise I'm well into my power stage. It's crazy. I feel like I MUST achieve power so I can change the world. I will not become a monster, but I must battle the monsters...This is the stage of realism. You surpass the innate love of everything and have to realise that that is not what everyone else feels and sees. It's a sad emotionless feeling at times but in every case neccessary. Anyone else at this stage with me?

i feel there is nothing to "achive" except the realization of what was allways there, you allready are the universe/consiousness/god expirencing itself. you allready have the power to change your reality to whatever you want, wich in turns changes all reality itself. one person cant tell everyone what they know and expect them to belive it and change, everyone has to do it themselves and expirence it firsthand for the word to change. which is why there is enlightend people everywhere but the world is becomeing more chaotic. chaos is a precursor for change so we need to evolve our consiousness to the next level or we will screw ourselves in the years to come.

I feel I am undergoing a process of spiritual change. I can tell that my work has begun to affect the emotional reactions that shape my view of the world around me. I am beginning to feel what I know, in a sense, is what I'm saying.

nice^

I had another day full of amazing moments. Simple moments at the park, writing in my journal.
Had lunch with close friends, then visited a spirituality store, and had a 15 min psychic reading. It was straightforward, and it was all right on. It just validated my experience, even though I don't need a stitch of validation.
So after that I went to a party, and I didn't drink, I must mention that.
I got home and I was downstairs alone and I kept hearing something. It sounded like muffled cries from my kids. As I moved closer to the sound, I realized it was not my kids. I was hearing an owl in my house. I stood in the hall, in the dark, and listened to an owl. It was amazing. I was too excited to actually enjoy it the way I would have liked to, if that makes any sense. Blessings to everyone...

Wow!! That must be an excellent feeling. I'm happy for ya, spicoli...seriously. I only wish I could/would experience the same. I know my priorities changed big-time after our son was born.
Family & friends are #1. Acquiring a bunch of $$$ & 'stuff' is way less important to me than it was 20 yrs ago. It was probably a combo of turning 40 & having a kid...I dunno.
But it sounds like you had a full-fledged enlightening experience. I haven't really. Hopefully, 1 day I will as well.

It's a relief to see posts like this here, when there are arguement going on in FFA about wheather we can be happy or not, and then breaks down to calling others dillusional, whom know that happiness is just under the surface of the Physical Body. Many walk over a treasure for years not knowing that its right under their feet, But it only takes one person to find that treasure and show it to the rest of us. That's not to say there is ONE piece of treasure, but many fragments of THE One treasure. The paths are many, but the Truth is One. I'm glad that you found a path to tread on. And I wish you joyous findings of wealth as you walk up it. I am constantly amazed at the power of living in the present moment and focus on the breath.

This was a good post to start my day Friend. I think we all feel like a lone drop of water, traveling alone down the hill to the ocean at some points of our lives, and its always refreshing to hear another dropletes story. Together we can carve channels in the hill, so that more drops can find their way.

Thanks again.

Blessings
Sage

^beautifully expressed, sage.
You touched on something with me about loneliness.
I used to be so lonely. I wanted to be by myself.
Now, I want to be with myself. That's the least lonely feeling I've ever had.
