Love the idea of God but against the concept and historical effects of organized religion.
I still don't believe in a higher power, and that lack of faith itself has had no negative impact on my life. I know Atheists and skeptics who are firm non-believers and great, successful, happy and lucky people nonetheless. If religion or belief in a creator scratches your itch, keep on. If a religion or belief in a creator propels power-trips, feelings of superiority, sex-hating, fag-burning, war, fetus-guilting and other forms of annoyance and discrimination--then the world needs less of you! Sacrifice yourself!

I completely agree with that. The only thing that really makes me think that there could be an ultimate creator, is the fact that we don't know how that original organic matter was created, which then allowed there to be life. Since energy can neither be created nor destroyed, the energy that created us and allowed us to sustain life, will then eventually go off to help the universe continue on it's path and help create more life for the future. We will probably end up as part of another planet, or gas, or even a meteor or something. We know that our energy has to ultimately leave this place and that will most certainly happen when our sun explodes and destroys the planet we call home. For me, the only consolation of death is knowing that the energy I leave behind will ultimately be used to help create new life.

I think that god is a concept that we as humans cannot grasp. its beyond our senses. With a limited perception, we cannot percieve at the ultimate level of reality. We cannot perceive the ultimate level using limited scientific methods. I think we are all interconnected somehow. This video is pretty trippy - "we are all one consciousness experiencing itself subjectively.

i believe, like waves, that we've ended up here and that we will eventually leave. this leads me to think that "here" isn't really any kind of special place, it just happens to be where i am. and wherever i am, i may or may not comprehend my reasons for being there, or what it is exactly that i am to do there. it is painfully apparent that this place is deep within the latter.
now, while i may choose to leave at some point for the time being i am still here. understanding that, i accept god as that part of myself, or an aspect of the creative universe in which a part of myself is inexorably intwined, which chose to place me here under this linear, material condition. perhaps all life or even all physicality is a manifestation of this process. but anyway, being ignorant of why i'm here or what's to be done here has obviously been very damning. . . for all of us as well. there's an awful lot of pain and suffering down through history, and even in my own life. so instead of thinking i can figure out, the folly i consider to have caused us all this, i've looked for systems in nature which seem stable enough to leave clues for action, or at least point me toward a proper mindset for action. the most apt system appears to be our cells which, though being individual units themselves, are living in symbiotic, synchronous harmony. and my conception of god is as the dna of these cells: that portion of them which instructs what is to be done here under their current condition.

Nah, well certainly at least not the conventional understanding of the word "God". I am also continuously redefining my conception on the subject.
I do believe in an individual's "highest self" and feel that it is universally the same in everyone. However, I don't believe it is fully realized in this human existence. That "The smallest light follows the larger and the largest follows the source"..So in a way I do believe in a portion of the whole loaded concept of "God".

i dont belive in god and im clueless as to what will happen when i die. i hope its something instead of just ceasing to exist. i have had many of my best friends all of the sudden become very religiouse and it broke up our freindship. i have always been sorta envious of them cuz they can put all of their faith into something and just know that everything will work out and they can say and belive that all of the bad stuff that happens to them is a part of "gods plan". i cant bring myself to trust that god exists.
