Why do you feel it's abbreviated? Many other Gitas have an eleborate explaination for each passage. This one has read the same as any Gita I have seen, just with out all the explaination.

Did you get the Blue or Silver out of curiousity?

Glad it worked out for you Hyper, and I hope the words touch you and cultivate the love and wisdom I found in there.

PS THANKS KOMP FOR THE MOVIE. How did they fit so much verse into 45 mins....might be more than one part, so I won't say so much yet. Thanks again Brother.

blue, which is actually marked as being an abbreviated version of the gita.

i'm going to scam that site into giving me the silver one too, I've read the blue one like 5 or 6 times already, I thirst for more.

How abbvd. is it?

I ordered my sister one, silver and it went to her house no worries.

I don't think it would be a scam, other than their rules, if you gave your blue gita to another friend. Or if you went to the library and found a full sized copy, you could read it and decided if you maybe just don't like the simplicity of the shorted one. There are many e-gitas out there as well for comparison.

While I like the Gita, there is some heavy, ' worship only me ' words from Krishna, that I feel need metaphore applied or a good understanding that Krishna is an avatar of the Supreme Being and Arjuna repesents the perfect student. Otherwise it sounds really 'or else' to some who aren't familiar.

The silver Gita is 121 pages I believe. I just finished reading it again last nite, on the bus.

Glad you are happy with yours. And want to see more

edit: I've actually been trying to get my friends who watch lost to read this since no one seems to understand what dharma is...

I think the Gita is a good stepping on point. The Dhammapada is as well. And albeit not quite accurate in all aspects, Siddhartha by Herman Hesse is a good one too.

The last is a book I buy and give away lots.

EDIT: The heck is Lost supposed to be about anyways. Never looked it up or watch it? What is the link you see there worth talking to them specifically about? Would you recommend I watch this, or will I get hooked and HAVE to watch it ?

you will have to watch it, it's like a crack addiction.

The dharma initiative is an organization that started working on the island in the 70s. A lot of the show is concerned with the karma/dharma type debate. Every episode has a flashback that shows, basically, the events in the persons life that led up to their current circumstances and leads to their decisions of how to act.

I've only heard it related to The Rapture, in Revelation. Nice to hear your take, Thanks.

How long has it been. It literally took me from Sept 08-Jan 09 to get here. I was taking a trip, I remember and was all excited that it came before I left!

I sent the application like the same day you replied to my question about whether I should get the blue or silver one... so it's been nearly 10 months.

Bump !!

Mikey told me he just got his abbreviated one a few weeks ago. So they are still sending them out.

I have talked to a few members here who have really loved theirs. And I hope that it will bring the same peace and joy myself and others have read in this wonderful text.

In Metta,
SageTree
