worrd veda, lots of itiopian jews. as long as the world is full of ignorant people who believe in the idea of race, we're going to have to deal with ignorant people debate over how white jesus was, how black tiger woods isn't and the like. hopefully someday people can just be people.

Well if you just read the BIBLE the Italians/British produced they even state the truth.

The Kings of Egypt got their hebrew slaves from the headwaters of the nile river - The people there are black. If you believe the story of MOSES the hebrews were black. Jesus was the son of hebrews he was black.

How todays Jews claim they are the same people the bible talks about is ..............! Since most today look European with a few stray North African looking ones. But in general we know todays jews dont look like Jesus. But i dont want to get into that one I'll be called names.

Some would think he looked like me, or should I say I looked like him. LOL

I suspect Jesus was likely brown, in some way or another. The national geographic pic above is likely about right.

And even so, if white people want to imagine him white because it makes it easier to forgive, then thats just as good as black people too. Either way, would Jesus really want you to feel pride about identifying with his skin colour...? To the exclusion of others?

Perhaps he was purple.

Someone mentioned Revelation.

"His head and his hairs were white like wool, as white as snow; and his eyes were as a flame of fire; And his feet like unto fine brass, as if they burned in a furnace; and his voice as the sound of many waters." (Revelation 1:14-15, KJV)

"Fine brass" is χαλκολίβανον chalkolibanon (khal-kol-ib'-an-on) n.
1. burnished copper, an alloy of copper (or gold) and silver having a brilliant lustre
[neuter of a compound of chalkos and libanos (in the implied meaning of whiteness or brilliancy)]

chalkos is copper (the substance, or some implement or coin made of it)

libanos is the incense-tree (frankincence) or (by implication) frankincense itself
[from Hebrew lbownah (frankincense)]

I believe this relates to Moses' "serpent of brass" (lit. "snake copper") on a pole (Numbers 21:8-9). It's also interesting that the words used to describe his feet include attributes of incense (whiteness or brilliancy).

In terms of color, burnished copper looks like this:

It strikes me that if you put oil (holy anointing oil, for example) on brown skin, this burnished copper pot is probably close to the color and shine we would see.
