Actually, what Salem was, was a bunch of people tripping on ergot-a hallucinogenic mold that grows on rye. So, it was basically a really bad trip that got totally out of hand. PBS did a really cool program about this.

i don't recommend watching this, i fear slightly it may have the potential to cause seizures.. and more-so your uncontrollable desire to fuck Zizek will likely muddle your attention on what he says

word, some of my ancestors did the hangings. I live right next to Salem and the witch tourist thing/halloween is the biggest industry in the city.

i've read quite about about this over the years, and i must say it does not surprise me..drugs, superstition, isolation, paranoia: that's a recipe for disaster
