If weed offers you a way for better communication/understanding of the lords way, than why shouldn't you be a christian smoker?

It's hard to say what is right and wrong in life. Moderation is a good goal no matter your path. Sometimes you smoke alot more, sometimes you smoke alot less, and you meet on a happy average consumption. But who can tell you how to connect with your Self.

Christ means the 'anointed one', and it was common for people to be anointed by cannabis oil back in those days, likely specifically because of its healing benefits, as a sort of special oil.

So, if you believe there was a real historical man jesus, and he was christ, he could very well have experience with 'getting high', and he would be among the holiest of peoples right? That could lend some legitimacy to using herb in a spiritual manner.

Otherwise, I would be more inclined to say, if its there, and it helps you get in tune with inner peace/truth/grace/contentment/understanding whatever, than yea... its all good. But like all earthly things, it can be used for good or bad.

If sobriety is what helps keep you down to earth, your ego in check, your hopes high... than thats the way for you... nomsayin?

I think it would be a sin to smoke Christians. The buzz would kinda suck, too.

You can most definitely be a Christian and smoke or you can be Buddhist, or Hindu, or Muslim or whatever you want to be--once you make that connection with your higher self, the dogma that precedes and shapes your thought process falls away. Cannabis is a sacred plant and the Bible, which many Christians will beat you up with to keep you from truly connecting to the Divine Creator, specifically calls for its use as sacrement and provides a recipe for producing annointing oil which contains cannabis. It is said that Shiva (Hindu) created cannabis for mankind's enjoyment. You worry about too much, just roll it up and smoke it.

Genesis 1:29-30 (King James Version)

29And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat.

30And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat: and it was so.

The only concern any christian smoker should have is that of gluttony, greed, inactivity...If it doesn't become a habit that takes over the balance of life than it can't be classified as a sin, as defined by the traditional seven deadly sins...

Unless you believe in total depravity, in which case it is a sin because it is self-serving and not in god's interest...

Well hardcore Christians will harp that it's ''defiling your temple'', which is considered to be sinful. But personally, I'm a Jesus-lover & I smoke a lot of ganj, and still have a strong faith and relationship with Him. I mean, if those hardcore xtians wanna get specific with it, we're defiling our temples by eating processed foods, riding in cars with exhaust entering our lungs.. you defile your temple on the DAILY, so to answer your question, I think foSHO you can be a Christian Smoker<3 Cuz I am one ; ) And I've never felt closer with Jesus <3

There is no evil things. There is only evil intent. Sex is can be wonderful, but prostitution is often evil. Murder can be a fine thing if it's self defense, but murdering a random person is evil. Marijuana can be a great thing, but dependency is evil. Just look at the intention behind what you're doing. If you smoke to relax or socialize or for spiritual/medical reasons that's great. But if you can't go 12 hours without smoking and spend all your cash and time on it, it is very much a bad thing. And finally, any plant which grows on earth is a creation of god and should not be demonized unless it's use becomes a sin such as gluttony or slothness.

Smoking is only defiling your temple if it hurts you. If you vaporize it or eat it it's not hurting you at all. Natives smoke tobacco and take mescaline but it doesnt mean theyre defiling their bodies. And is it any worse to smoke pot than to breath in the filthy air, or water we have in modern times? Would a rural African be condemned for drinking tainted water?
