Witchcraft predates religion. Burning a few million witches drove many to silence.

If your perception of witchcraft is to gain "power" over other people... then its probably a good thing you avoid the craft. It won't turn out well for you.

Again Thank you Jenna.

Hatred comes from fear, this isn't anything new.

Wearing dark cloaks are so people could hide in the shadows because of all the negativity of the Church.

I read an article once that supposed the witch hunts came before the Black Plauge. Cats, who were deemed friends of witches, were killed, thus increasing the rat population. And since witches, who were herbalist and care takers, were being driven to the shadows or killed, there was no one to practice medicine as much as was needed, and that enabled a niche for the Plague to form in Northern Europe.

'Do what you will, harm none.'

Blessed Be,
SageTree

Just can't help myself Sagetree

A bit off topic maybe....

The inquisition started back in the 12th century to find those who didn't embrace the church and its beliefs. If you didn't follow their beliefs, you were branded a heretic.. Your land and worldly possessions were taken from you guarenteeing your children and your children's children would be poor. Talk about a quest of power. By the 14th century, the church focused its attention on women. One of the cruelest aspects of witchcraft persecution was that women were murdered for doing things that men were allowed to do, medicine, philosophy, spiritual advising, study of nature and the stars. About 9 million were executed after 1484, countless others predate that. Not something for us humans to be proud of.

Black draws the grounding energies up through the body. It also represents the dark phase of the moon when her energies are strongest. There is something to be said for the dark energies and learning through them..that allows us to turn into ourselves and examine our own dark corners.

While that energy can be directed negatively to others, those actions are mirrored back to you thrice. The Crone isn't for everyone. I wouldn't dabble or call her unless you have done your research. In order to tap her energies, first you must take responsibility for your own role in creation. No hiding the facts or only seeing your perception as the Goddess inevitably brings those lessons to you. Kind of a play hard or go home philosophy.

There are good and bad witches some born into it

Yes, I understand.

My friend practiced the craft for cleansing and just reverance of nature.

Natural Rituals like The Cirlcle of Power and Raising the Cone of power from The Cirlcle of salt on the ground.

There are several grimoirs that link Freemasonry (handshakes and passwords and DEGREES)
The craft was passed down from italian families using freemasonry as a 'conduit' or Freemasonry was using Witchcraft.

It could be either way, or both.

Hereditary Witchcraft: Secrets of the Old Religion

HEREDITARY WITCHCRAFT, by Raven Grimassi, explores the beliefs and
practices of Witches who have passed their ancient Craft from generation to
generation. This book provides sound evidence for the existence of Family
Traditions still thriving in the late 19th century, and up into modern times.
The book also clearly demonstrates that the Old Religion is not something
that began with the writings of Gerald Gardner. Of special interest is a
section comparing the various aspects of Gardnerian Wicca with the earlier
tenets of Italian Witchcraft revealed by Charles Leland. Here one discovers
that almost every aspect of modern Wicca appeared over half a century
earlier in Leland's works on Italian Witchcraft. This is a ground breaking book
with a lot of material and symbols never before seen in print.

The book also ties in Freemasonry with The Craft.

Witches use cats, snakes, and owls, because they bring dead animals back to the house to be used in spells.

Ever have your cat bring you a dead mouse?

It's called a "Familiar".

From the same guy Raven Grimassi
Comparing the similarities of Freemasonry and the Craft.

The witches' craft: the roots of ... - Google Books

and

Encyclopedia of Wicca & Witchcraft - Google Books

Black Magick is the perversion of Natural Magick.

There are more specific similarities, but...

Mackey examines the theory that the origins of freemasonry as a secret
society are rooted in an ancient pagan mystery cult tradition. he states
that the foundation of this thoeory "derives form the most important part of
it's ritual and the legend of it's third degree from the initiation practiced in
these religious oranizations.' The parallels drawn by Mackey are:

1. the preparation of the initiate by a washing or cleansing that was both physical snd symbolick.

2. the initiation, that passes the initiate throught the lesser and greater
mysteries. Mackey linkens this to that which occurs in Freemsaonry
concerning the Fellow's Craft and the Master's degree.

3. The perfection, which transmitted the "true dogma" or the "great secret"
symbolized by the initiation rite itself.Mackey states that this is identical in fremasonry.

4. The secret nature of both freemasonry and the pagan mystery traditions.

5. the use of symbols.

6. the dramstic form of the initiation.

7. the divisions of both systsms into degrees or steps.

8. the adoption by both of secret methods of recognition.

In the closing chapter, Mackey states that the "form and character of
certain masonic rutuals such as the third degree rite were derived from
the "funeral legend" of the ancient initiations.

Awesome posts! We can definately draw comparisions between witchcraft and wicca, the golden dawn, the key of solomon and the freemasonry.

Thanks.

Growing up, there were several stroies and superstitions.

Droping a fork on the ground means a guest would be expected.

Droping a spoon would me family member would come by.

Droping a knife means a death or new person with change may arrive.

Not sleeping with your shoes beside the bed.

Ghost stories of recent, night club dancer turns out to have cloven feet.

Local Highway ghosts

and bed time stroies passed down since who knows...

La Llorona (weeping woman) who drowned her "bad" kids in a near by canal,
and late at night you could here her cry out "where are my children, in a funeral death cry.

It served two purposes.

1. Kids won't wonder off at night, especially near dangerous canals.

2. historical there had to been a lady that drowned her two kids and then regreted it, namely the lady that blamed those two black guys fro killing her children in a lake.

3. Better be good kids.

But Monsters are Real.

La cultura del Americano Hispano is more upfront with magick and curanderas '.

Put it this way.

America has a health store per 4 block radius.
Mexico has a Yerberia store per 4 block radius.

Selling the same candles incence, herbs, and eye of newt.

But as usual they don't come right out and say Magick Shop.

In Mexico they are considered magick shops because the owner can cleanse,
read, prescribe mixtures, and perform whatever rituals 'light as a feather...'.

I and my friends have had several cleanisng entirely seperate by years and seperate by close family members.
It's just the cultrure of having some one pray over your laying body with a
t-shirt, whole shell egg, etc.

The egg is then cracked and seen for abnormalities.

some times oddley enough there was a split yoke or blood, you know the usual.

A close family member died, years now.
His wife discovered his hidden Alter with bowl, dagger, candels, pentagram, the whole bit; that fit in a small closet box.

He was a Freemason.

He owned several businesses across the Rio Grande Valley.

All the coincidences are starting to pile up; to my front door.

Superstition IS Magick

did anyone check out history channels Secrets of our Founding Father's.

They tallk about how they grew hemp and presumably smoked it as well.
(and how drugs [hemp tabacoo] funded the american revolution)

and how the Masons Constitution was THE model for our Constitution,
with several phrases seen in both.

Washingtons family is known as a STAR FAMILY,
Which has knownledge of Templar Teasure holy grail stuff.
His family crest was three five pointed stars over red and white bars
later presumably used in the flag.

They also mentioned how the signers of the declaration WAITED
until the stars were 'aligned'.

They also mentioned the washington monument and how 'perfect' it was
and almost on the verge elevating George Washington into a god,
as the 'unfinished' pyramid at the top is 'complete' and perfect.

There are other websites that link the Washington Monument with George
Washington Worshipping as a god or reaching 'Perfection' thus becoming his
own god, part of the Old Religion.

They also look at the street map with the giant Unfinished Pentagram.
The masons say if we had the power why not just complete it.
The History Channel doesn't make the connection between
The Unfinished Pyramid and the Unfinished Pentagram.
It's a symbolic work in progress,
We the people of the United States, in order to form a more 'perfect' union.

But they were superstitious, and believed in magick by the stars, postponing the signing.
They were heavy into drugs drinking sex and subversion.
The channel covered alot on their mistresses,
where washington sent a general in the middle of a party to meet a messenger way across the district,
while he slept with the general's wife in his own house!

And Franklin's brother was arrested in part of the HELL FIRE CLUB that moved to the
American Colonies.

Franklin also had 'a' medical student disect human corpses in Franklin's home.
Escavaters found hundreds of bones, including children underneath Franklin's home.

LOL!

There was one guy "wacko" that was on and quoting from
Waite a high ranking Mason who wrote several books on the occult.

But he only read one line.(out of the whole 2 hours)

If they would read more books from actual High Ranking Masons,
The whole history is there and 'self evident' of the Freemasons Involvement in Magick.

THe last history channel had Daniel Pipes on saying there is no conspiracy,
and just recently he advocated for ahjmenenjad to win in the contested
election as a more accurate representation of "Iranian Threat".

He just busted himself.

daniel pipes is a well-known muslim hater. not only did he write about obama being a secret muslim, but one of many other anti-muslim things he talks about is paying "special attention" to american-muslim ppl serving in the us military and labeling them "security threats". daniel pipes holds no legitimacy with me.

Magic is putting the energies in place for "logic" to happen. Everything can be explained away as coincidence..

Sounds like you are at a crossroads to me
