Ubuntu is fantastic. I'm typing this from a custom compiled Debian 5.0 which is quite similar.

In perfect essence more religions and philosohies are socialst, because it's generally there goal to end suffering in life and to obtain a happy state within yourself and those around you.

The Christian Socialist movements in North America and the reason Communism took hold in Afghanastan are testament to this. Read some parts of the Quran, it's like a handbook in some places. Buddhist philosophy certainly conducts itself in this way as well.

Have you ever heard the term ' the social gospel ' its usually in reference to the humanist collective principles within the Christian Gospels.

What is the point of religion, spirituality and philosophy if we aren't going to use it for the good of all, because then it would just be capitalism and we know how good Ronnie's trickle down has effected the world

In Indian philosophy 'Indra's net' is a searchable term that lays forth a mental picture of how we are all a reflection of each other.

It's cool you are interesting in this mode of thinking, seeing the interconnected web of life is amazing and becomes a place were we can examine the self, and what that is and isn't, that we aren't really so different in our search for happiness and that is all we all want basically.

Compassion is easier to summon when we are looking into others lives with the idea of they are suffering and looking for happiness just as I am.
