Cosmic Signs, Metaphors, Deja Vu
This is a sharing thread, so share experiences and comment on other's!
Cosmic Signs: Do you believe in "signs" or syncronicitys/omens that the universe sends out to you? Maybe you look at the clock at the same time every day(for me it's always 1:11AM/PM)? Or out of nowhere someone will talk about something that's been on my mind or looking for. Or you get those days were everything comes together, or when everything completely falls apart(not perspective based). Any incidences? Metaphors: Have you ever tried dream interpretion/metaphorical analysis methods to interpret your life from your past experiences? I'll share an instance of one from my life. So there was a girl I was truly honestly in love with(never been that way with anyone else). We went for a walk into the woods one day and we talked about some really hard things to talk about, I won't go into personal details of her life. Anyways time flew by and before I knew it was dark and the trail was pretty scary to the both of us to be honest, but we braved it. On our exit from the trail into a neighborhood, a very ill pure WHITE cat followed us and meowed the whole way. We took it back to my house gave it some food but I couldn't keep it, but she could. She named her Penelope. The cats health was near death, but she was a nurse(ironically my fave song at the time was nurse by APC). Then we went different paths she found interest in someone else and that was predictable(I'm not exciting, I'm just honest). Anyhow the cat ended up dieing on Valentines day that year(she called me to tell me). My interpretation of this was on a hall-mark holiday, the fake day to represent love and togetherness, the true thing that may have been a little ill between the two of us, passed away onto infinity. Ever since than she's been caught up in the social hype of climbing ladders or people, and very distant(we talk on an annual basis just so she knows I don't dislike her). Deja Vu: I personally have had Deja Vu incidences where I know the next words someone is going to say because it HAS happened before(or I can predict the future). I've also had Deja Vu where after something happens I look at the object or point of interest again and for a second it feels like it never happened then I get this rush of feeling like "I did this". Any cool experiances?

For me a I've been here feeling happens when I have a visual que of a dream I have had recently or as far back as I can remember to my childhood some times.
Usually my dreams are at job ,strangely enough, that I've had from Pennsylvania to Iowa to BC and North. It's just an instant where I can recall a dream, closer and closer now these days, down to months at a time here, these dreams come. I take it as a bit of a 'hey I must be where I'm supposed to be' because I have seen things that aren't from where I was living at the time, or at a job I had presently. What happens when the dreams catch up to my next days work? Will they pass me even having them so that they stop, or when they are on my heels will I cease to exist, and I'll just be dreaming about the life I had?

SageTree I think if there's possibility of dreaming in post-life, life will be on your mind but in a different sense. The energy of all the precious things you chose to be close to in your life will flow through you/with you/as you. So whatever you chose to be a part of will be your material, but without the distraction of the bodily senses...It will be a whole lot more beautiful or a whole lot more ridiculously ugly. Those gleam of light/energy you see/feel/become/always where you recieve when meditating, is what I believe post-life is alot like
.The egyptians referred to post-life as lucid dreaming in a sense. It's more complicated but I won't get into that here. Also I believe when dreams become true(fitting under that cosmic sign/omen category) you are on the right path, or at least where you aspire to be. Excellent post as always sir tree!

i think there are some signs that are hard to explain but alot of them is just the way we process information, i mean if your thinking of something all day theres probably a thousand other things you hear people say on tv radio in person before the thing you were thinking about pops up, sure its cool when it does but i dont think it means anything other then coincidence.
dream related events are really interesting to me tho, i have had some really strange coincidences with my dreams and people i know irl, but alot of times i just dream about what im thinking of right when i go to sleep. My dreams are kinda spastic tho, i have narcolepsy so i go into REM in just a few minutes after actually falling asleep so alot of nights i can have 10+ dreams since i wake up and shift positions in the bed or w/e and go back to sleep i have a different dream each time usually occasionally i wake up get a drink of water and go back to sleep and go right back into the same dream i was in, that kinda freaks me out because if i try to do it by thinking about the dream right as im falling asleep it never works so i get to thinking that maybe its an especially important dream im supposed to be having that it could be interuppted and my mind still wants to have it

FortySecondRip every-time I've had sleep where I was awoken or fucked with(someone I was cuddling with moving me off of them, I'm a sleep roller sometimes haha) I remember them much more vividly. Isn't it weird how once you turn off your mind(to some extent aka sleep) the future and the past events and symbols/metaphors are one big 15 second memory of confusion? haha.
What you said about slipping into the same dream again is not new to me either. Which is also a strange strange thing. It's almost like you HAVE to see that dream whether you can consciously recall it later or not is irrelevant. Which is an interesting thing to note as well? Is there a voice inside of us all that get's covered but only when we don't restrict it, it makes us movies, tells us stories, and sings us songs(dreams)?

1:11 is my time, but all sequences of 1 are a big influence in my life.
This is super interesting! I didn't know there was actually a study/belief behind this?! Quote:
A personal interpretation I never thought about: the only time 1 and 1 are "one" is in 11. Same with 111 and 1111. this one gave me chills: http://www.angelscribe.com/1111.html and I'm not even theisticly religious. Wow thanks Catastrophe I would have never looked into this coincidence...:1peac e:

In early 2008, the wind started to blow. It was crazy windy all the time. And I just felt that some big shit was coming. Winds of Change, I guess. Well, the whole world changed, on a personal as well as public level. My father dying was probably the biggest personal change. I just couldn't get over how much shit was being thrown at everyone, including me.
It was just a feeling I had about the wind, but the feeling was sure in a way that my usual hunches and such just aren't. And from then on, I've been more open to the idea of signs and foreshadowing from the world around me. ![]() The Rev |

That's beautiful even though it sounds stressful.
I like to look at the human experience as writing messages in to the sand. After time the wind or the shore will always erase whatever has been written. So another beach go'er can have the same opportunity. Much love to you and your pops Rev. He'll always be with you, if you stay keen to these haunches, and follow the signs he lays down for you. I may be technically schitzophrenic but at certain moments I can sense and sometimes litteraly hear the voices of those who have passed. Not to say I'm some psychic, mystic, all knowing divine person(cuz I'm not at all). But if you keep it in your intentions to listen to the person who has passed away, they will always speak to you at all the right times. Usually during times of hard-ship or confusion. A little light will flick on in the darkness and you know who turned it on. We're all just beacons for an infinite amount of energies. I believe the reason why we get so confused and upset about death is A) we're selfish and want that person to physically be with us because it's easier to commune with them. B) It's impossible to understand how/why their still alive but not in your eye-sight. When I watched my grandmother pass away, I literally felt this massive amount of energy RUSH from her cancer ridden body, and everything was okay. She didn't want to leave, but I know she's more than satisfied with the outcome. I didn't feel remorse, it was the most beautiful thing I've ever experienced. And yes she still visits me in silly ways.

Schizophrenia is a really interesting phenomenon. It seems very reasonable to assume that there is a great deal going on around us that we simply cannot perceive. Some of this is due to the limits of the senses, but some of it must also be due to limits in thinking. I sometimes wonder if the schizophrenic isn't tuned into things that the rest of simply cannot pick up on, but because he is trained to think like the rest of us, he can be confused or frightened by the experience.
I really don't know enough about the disease to offer the above thought as anything more than musing, but given my experience with psychiatry, I do tend to think that doctors are still bound by alot of assumptions which prevent them from really questioning what they are trying to diagnose and treat. That being said, don't take my hunches too seriously. Recently, I started feeling like things were on the uptick, in a really sure kind of way, right before my wife's dog died costing us like $4K (money we didn't have) in the process of trying to save him. Yeah, that was a kick in the nads. ![]() The Rev |

ok, so for me, i will have a dream of something that has already happened in my life. Take a situation: a group of my friends hang out, smoke, and have a grand old time, then a dream will happen where I go through the same situation, only it's slightly different. Then it gets wierd, I forget what really happened and am convinced that the alternate situation happened, and all my friend think im fuckin nuts. Too much weed? Not a fucking chance.
