2012: End of the 13th Baktun???
One baktun, is 20 katun cycles in the mayan calendar. 144,000 days or 400 years. The Mayans civilization started around the 8th and 9th baktuns of our current callendar. The current 13th baktun will be completed on December 21st or 23rd 2012, 13.0.0.0.0. The first baktun was considered the creation or birth of life. Now if you dont know anything about gallactic allignments or precession of the equinoxes, some people believe the Mayans were very good at predicting this and so were the Egyptians. They not only predicted this to happen on 2012, but they also predicted a special happening in our universe. "A door into the heart of space and time will be open" "the cosmos will be reborn or recreated" "we will reach the zero point of the process, a moment of collective spiritual birth" So what do you think will happen? theres plenty of this stuff floating around and evidence leading to the same date...

Pole Shifts: No wonder santa didn't bring me my presents!
Studys have proven that about 800 million years ago in the precambrian period the north pole shifted 50 degrees (the current distance between alaska and the equator) in less than 20 million years. If we are well overdue, and in the middle of a pole shift (the cause of global warming *maybe*) or this shift and the alignment have anything to do with each other, then who knows what is going to happen to mankind within the next couple generations. Are we in the middle of our last age on Earth???

honestly i believe this time is the point at which our universe will stop expanding and begin to contract. but it's not exact. the universe is fluid, and therefor the acceleration of expansion traveled through it like a wave. when this expansion stops (as a pendulum does at the apex of its swing) the momentary suspension will also travel through our universe like a wave, and so too the acceleration of contraction as its momentum reverses. what 2012 indicates is this wave of suspension reaching our galaxy and solar system. the "clockwork" of this area -- the motions which have proceeded from and continued since the beginning -- will be momentarily suspended as this wave passes through us. it will literally be a moment of no-time, for time is a result of motion. it's hard to say for certain what effects this may have on us and our consciousness.

I'm open to something awesome happening, like what you are referring to Verk or possible some kind of semi-collective vision (like a ton of people receiving the same message either waking or in their dream states, undeniable proof of another state of collective being) and also not a damn thing happening at all. It might be something so progressive and slow that we don't even realize that change has ocurred until we look back on it, much as we look back on our own history now and realize how much has actually shifted and relatively rapidly at that. All I know is I will remain open to all possibilities...and I think that notion alone is what makes 2012 as significant as it is.

I've done alot of reading on this, and there's nothing that I've seen that indicates that the Maya saw the end of the world coming or anything else. In fact, they have some future events dated beyond the 2012 date of 13.0.0.0.0 on the long count calendar. Basically, all 2012 is is a glorified version of Y2K. It's the end of an approx. 5000 year cycle, like 2000 was the end of the millenium.

Between moving into the age of aquarius, the end of the mayan long count calendar, Nostradumus predictions of 2012, and us moving into the new sun cycle in 2013 (i believe) there is going to be a cosmic change of some kind. The mayans were perceptive in so many ways it's bizarre. Unless the had unknown technology, contact with god or extraterrestrials, or some sort of shamanic revelation I don't see how they could know as much as they did. For instance they believed the center of the milky war galaxy to be the entrance to hell. Only semi recently did we discover that there is a large black hole at the center of basically every galaxy.
I don't believe it will be the end of the world, but there may be some strange natural phenomenon and disasters. I heard that the earth is also switching it's axis sometime soon? I don't know that could just be misinformation. Anyways, the Full moon/werewolf roomers came from the fact that gravity is thought to greatly effect people's minds and bodies, and when the moon comes in it changes people in strange ways. If this is true (shit..Look what it does as far as making waves...and if we're 80% water then...) then even minor shifts in axis, gravity or position in the universe could greatly affect us. I have seen so much consistency in astrology. I think our position in the stars (whether it's actually the stars themselves or other forces such as gravity) has a lot to do with how the earth is both physically, spiritually and mentally. I don't believe there will be a doomsday type situation, but I believe an mass awakening of some kind is not only overdue but extremely probable. Maybe the economy going down the shitter will finally kill our materialistic nature? Hopefully. And by the way...Y2K wasn't bullshit at all. The world almost did end...we got 8 years of Bush!

The Earth bobs up and down through the galatic plane in a roughly 30 million year cycle. Extinctions seem to happen on roughly a 30 million year cycle.
And we are right at the due date for the next one. Source ![]() Makes me feel like

What forces control that, I wonder?
Science says "nature" but that doesn't explain it's cycles or seeming intelligence that it displays.

All I know for sure is that I'm going to do my very best to take advantage of all the people out their that believe 2012 is going to bring 'crazy shit' to our world. I'm gonna make some big fucking profits that year, period.
