Man, the times I've heard that the end is near. As someone who has been alive long enough to be able to compare generations I can tell you this kind of talk has been around for as long as I can recall. Listen to Ego and Verk and you'll be much happier.

Thanks dude.

And Mydriasis too. I love:

People almost want the world to just end I find. So that way their free from decisions, expectations, their inhabitions and habits. But can I say to you, that there is much time left, and if there wasn't, why bother thinking about it? Shouldn't you be out living life verses fearing and loathing your demise? Everyone's gonna die. Yes you will die one day, shit it could even be tonight. But what direction are these thoughts taking you too? Away from where you need to be to do your duty on this earth, what's that you ask? Your already doing it.

...

Don't let them scare you away from creating the master-piece that is you.
So true. We all have a bit of a duty to remain positive. I feel that optimism lends to being a visionary and a visionary moves the world forward. No pessimist or doomsday believer ever created a cure for a disease, invented an amazing technology, or really helped mankind in general because what's the point, right? I actually believe those people enter the Catholic Church. Anyway, I'd much rather look back and be part of the solution, especially when it means I'm happier throughout that journey, as well as make a lot of friends in the process and hopefully leave the world in a better state than before I got here.

At the end of it all, at least I can say that I tried and I did my level best.

Like others in this thread have said, The world has always been like this. People from centuries ago worried about the end of the world. Humans are always worrying about something, and with the influence of religions and superstitions it is something that we humans have done for along time.

In Josephus Flavius Book of Antiquties some parts are almost like reading an old ancient newspaper, and in it you will find that people back then were very similiar to how we are and think in the present.
They had their corrupt governments, wars, judicial systems, famine, greed etc. Same as we do now. Maybe even worse at times. Case in point is the Roman Colliseum and the atrocities to humans that went on there just for sport.

I dont believe in the End of the world, not just yet anyway.
I used to. But not anymore.

I believe we havent seen anything yet compared to what will be in the future.

Right now I think, the biggest threat to mankind is not man himself, but the normal changes that the earth has been going thru for billions of years.

Years ago, I recall reading about how alot of people were having dreams and visions about America being split in two and having a large area of water where the present day plains states are. But only recently have I heard about the super volcano that resides at Yellowstone.
Edgar Cayse recalls in one of his OBE's how he was "living in a coastal town in Nebraska" (in a future century) and realizes that he is reincarnated, and his past life was Edgar Cayse. Scientists of this future time were very interested in this. He also talks about seeing "NY City in ruins from a war or a natural catastophe and noted that they were in the process of rebuilding it".

NDE's fascinate me as well and learning from them it appears that we are here for reasons of learning and growth. If the end of the world came this soon, were would we all go in our spiritual journeys to learn and grow?

I believe we will go thru a cleansing maybe, but not an end of the world scenario..not just yet anyway.

Nothing is an accident...everythin g has a purpose.

This is what has always tripped me out...

Imagine how dinosaurs were here for 160,000,000 years, and they lived the exact same way for every single second of it, no cars, no electricity, etc... Humans probably won't make it 1/1,000,000 of that unless we get off this earth in the next 200-300 years like Hawking said.
