waking up early

waking up early is one of the hardest things to do, seriously its like one of the very most difficult things to acomplish and probably the single biggest reason why i acomplish less that i should.

u think, damn im tired i just wanna go back to sleep

that is really a big case of mind over matter, but in the wrong way, or maybe its actually matter over mind.

in any case, anybody else have this problem? how do u deal with it?

I find that if I go to sleep early, I wake up early.

when you don't have a choice about what time you have to wake up, it's a task that seems a lot less insurmountable.

I enjoy waking up early, but I also very much enjoy my sleep. So I often wish I could go to bed earlier, and am disgusted waking up at 11, but its because of my job and lifestyle right now.

Soon I will be getting up at 5

The fact that I'll get fired if I stay in bed is usually the best motivator for me to get up.

I read somewhere that getting up early, when you are young, is much more difficult due to higher melatonin levels. The whole inner clock works differently. It's easier to stay up later (and harder to fall asleep early) when you're younger, and the opposite is true when you are older. I think your task is herculean not because you lack the correct technique, but because you're fighting an uphill battle against biology.

I enjoy getting up early and getting a lot done. I tend to spend a sizeable portion of my morning researching and reading news on whatever topic fancies me currently. I find its a good way to stimulate the brain and get ready for the day.

i hate mornings and regularly sleep until 12 or 1. I am one lazy bastard.

What I do is set my alarm 20 minutes before I have to get up, and just stay in bed half awake hitting the snooze. Gives you some time to come to terms with how fucking horrible working is, and how you inevitably have to get up. Then its cold water to the face, and a lot of coffee. That's the best advise I can give you from one morning hater to another.

Getting up at 630 for the summer has been something I`ve gotten used to, but it always has had an effect on my state of mind... Something about getting up on your own terms at a reasonable time that makes the day that much better.

9am mornings and I`d be perfect... it being my last week of work, such mornings are soon to come!

Damn... where did summer go?

Yea I gotta say if it's not 330 in the morning when I wake up the first time I usually just get up. I find myself awake around 5 most mornings. You have to work with your natural rythms of sleep. Try to figure out when you are coming out of a cycle to near the top. I was told that you cycle in hour and a half incraments, so if you just figure tonite I will sleep from here till here and think it out to the nearest 1.5 hours you might find it easy to get up. Every two cycles in three hours so five cycles would be 7.5 hours. Try setting an alarm to that time of morning and see if you wake up earlier before the alarm and if you do just get up, sit on the edge of the bed and take some breaths.

Good luck man, because it's amazing to have dishes done, dinner chopped for the evening, have some coffee in your and a batch of bread rising before 7

When you know what you want out of life and will not rest until you get it you can't wait to get up and go get some of it.

My main problem with sleep is that I love to stay up late, I also love to wake up early. after this summer I'm happy to be alive whenever I'm awake really.

This is exactly true, especially in my situation. I've been diagnosed with delayed sleep-phase syndrome and it proves itself worthy each night; I literally cannot fall asleep before 2:30 am, and then naturally wake around 10-11am, and that way I feel most rested, I guess because my circadian rhythm is off.
This has been solved almost entirely by 3-6mg Melatonin each night... the stuff really does work

I find just having the window open does it for me. As soon as the sun drenches my room with its sweet golden bath-(pauses for giggling)- I can't wait to get outside and have the morning coffee and joint. But if the window is closed or I'm at a woman's place (I found women want to blot the sun out more often) then I'll sleep well into the morning till the rom heats up. so, in summary..

sun in your face at 6am will get you up!

If I am sleeping outdoors, or with a big portion of my room open to outside air and noises I CAN NOT sleep in if I try. I will wake up at 6 AM and if I am lucky sleep again till 7. After that I feel the world pulling me outta bed.

As far as sleeping in my bedroom though...... I can sleep in until 3PM no sweat.
