I was raised protestant, then became mormon at 12...which was strange to say the least.
Then I went through the whole teenage nihilism/agnosticism thing for a while. Then I got into Zen because my psychologist was recomending meditation for anxiety and sleep disturbances and what not.
Anyways, it wasn't until a few years ago I started to dabble in things like A course in miracles, pantheism, and certain christian science ideas.

Ive come to a point where I believe all attempts at spirituality are valid, but not 100% truths. I give the analogy (uh oh, I know how much people hate my analogies) of the blind men describing the elephant. None of them are wrong, they just arent able to see the bigger picture.
I've also realized that whatever or whoever god is "he" would never punish us for not knowing the "right" faith to belong to. The idea that "this religion will be saved and this one will go to hell" is stupid. If it is true, then I guess I'm anti god haha.

Sage - What methods of studying did you use for your religious studies? I mean, did you go to school? Or do it independently? If you went to school, what classes did you take?

^they don't. i'm good friends with lots of mormons. and i believe in some sort of an enternaly anonymous higher being that created the earth and things necessary to evolve into the wonderful, complex and capable beings we are today. discovering where i came from made me more content than any religious view ever has.

The mormons believe the most insane bullshit on earth. Blacks and native americans had their skin turned dark by god as punishment, youre supposed to have multiple wives and as many kids as possible, all non mormons go to hell (one of its many levels), you can baptize the dead, and worst of all that Joseph Smith was actually a prophet and that there were unread scriptures hidden in America haha. The religion is pure dogshit.

your referring to them as old mormons. much like the old baptist who used to slay non believers. mormons do not AT ALL encourage multiple wives, nor do they believe all non believers go to hell. not any more that is.

but that chritianity post is up in spiritual smoke, we should move there so we aren't so off topic

Off topic is what I do best. But Ill go in there...

I know The LDS doesnt follow that stuff anymore, but Mormons do. LDS is an offshoot of mormonism, I dont think its technically mormon, atleast according to old school mormons. And the only reason they stopped the racism and polygamy is because of social/legal pressure.
Even without that shit, theyre still ridiculous. Have you ever been mormon? Its creepy. Ive done baptisms for the dead, and that shit is seriously bizarre...And thats like a low level ritual.

As Christ is a designation of a state of consciousness (the Christ Consciousness), rather than a proper name, so may Buddha be referencing one the " four divisions of the mind." This is not to say there was never such a person.
Here are the divisions (ANTASHKARANS in Sanskrit):

(1) MANAS is "mindstuff", per se. It is that which receives and registers impressions through the senses of Smell, Taste, Hearing, and Feeling (touch). Its chief function is TASTE. It tastes, relishes, enjoys or rejects what it doesn't like. Feelings and taste are practically the same thing. All of its reactions are automatic (repeated once accepted...like sctratched records). The MANAS enjoys what it has been trained to like, and its reactions are instantaneous. It either likes a taste or rejects it automatically. It then passes on its findings to the BUDDHI for final judgment.

(2) CHITT is that faculty which takes cognizance of form, beauty, color, rhythm, harmony and perspective. It enjoys those things, and what it doesn't like it rejects. It receives its impressions mostly through the eyes as its instruments of perception. It then passes on its findings to the BUDDHI. In all of these reactions, its processes are as regular and automatic as are the reactions of chemistry.

(3) BUDDHI is the intellect proper, that power the soul uses as its chief instrument of thought. When empowered by spirit, it produces thought. It discriminates and decides. It then passes judgment upon all the findings of the other two faculties. Its decisions are then passed on to the final court of execution, AHANKAR.

(4) AHANKAR accepts the decisions of the other faculties handed on to it by BUDDHI and executes its mandates. It is the executive faculty of mind. It is also the I_NESS of the individual. It is the faculty by which the individual differentiates self from all else, and it is the faculty which enables the individual to distinguish between his own interests and that of others. It is the faculty which, when exaggerated, becomes vanity or egotism.

dude south park makes every religion look like childhood fantasies or some shit. in the mormon episode they said john smith read the tablets out of a hat.

I know that south park wasnt totally factual but the point of the episode is dead on. Why are you defending them anyways? LDS/Mormons are insane. Growing up many of my friends were mormon and I WAS mormon. Ive seen the insides of their workings and it's bizarre and possibly evil.

Reading about Jesus regarding Christ-consciousness, is large in part how the story of the resurrection started making a lot more sense to me, and started shedding new light on the life and stories that I had previously known and grown up with.

I'm not sure to who the rest of that post was to. I didn't find it very clear as to who the audience was and what it's intent was.

Could you please elaborate your own meaning and I'm sure it will be much more clear to me. Cutting and pasting has it's function, but a little personal meaning helps.

(see paragraph 6 starting at letter A.)
exact words

No harm man, I just want to know what you think about what you posted and who you were talking to.

Well yea, and I see where you are coming from and can infer meaning...

But would you like to draw some personal parallels with your own words.

ASSumptions aren't my style, so I like to know what you are trying to say without guessing.

Ok, I read about all I can find on here about The Path of Masters/of Ancient Wisdom and read again on the Four Antashkarans, which seem to all be connected or associated in a modern sense with the Previous. Ascended and Unascended Masters, The Great White Brotherhood ect.... as well as leafing through a good protion of Julian P. Jphnson's: Path of the Masters

I am not sure in which if any of these context you wish to speak through or address.

I thank you for mentioning the Anatashkarans, it which ever facet wished, That was all a very interesting read/hunt for information, while trying to elucidate your point.

Now I'd like to hear about what you have to say.

I have been a student of Eckankar for 25 years. It's on the web. Good for a read/hunt.

Right on thanks for the read. That is definitely not a name or religion that came up when I was searching earlier. I'm reading right now. And thanks again for sharing.
