also on a mildly related note, I'd like to point out Lewis' theory that god has no equal, nor opposite.

You cannot say that Satan is the opposite of God because that would imply that; as God is omnipotent, that Satan would also be omnipotent in the forces of evil, which would nullify God's omnipotence.

God has no equal or opposite. The great deceiver has you deceived.

I was only pointing out Lewis' theory for the sake of it, like I said it just reminded of the passage. Doesn't apply to what you said.

Thanks for coming back to add some things Wilson.

Basically to say 'equal' in the normal sense isn't right.
Equal, would be more akin to realizing the Divine Spark in Us, wading through the muck, puling back the dirt that covers the treasure and knowledge of God's Way inside us already.

In that Way I think we could see and be amazed by our gifts to create and destroy life, literally and metaphorically, on our own scale as humans.

And for me I feel I have brought that into my awareness and practice to carry that into my actions with others.

So because of that, I do my best to enter with Compassion and Kindness.

I personally feel this is the Way and manner that Jesus used to guide and transform people... And that's God 'gave' us the Bible...

Out of a want to Love.... not to Punish.

tldr; Equal doesn't mean equal... it means to merge with the godliness that God instilled in us All.

I'm not sure if that means that I am not a 'Brother' in this case to you,
But believe me when I say you still are a Brother in Christ to me.

I think given how many people aren't for Christ as at puts us in the same boat by default. In a conversation with these folks they are likely going to look at us the same just because we're using 'Jesus' in a sentence, know what I mean?

This is why I don't mind hearing about how other people know and relate to their faith journey. Although our word choice isn't the same, in some way, we're still speaking the same language.

You hit the nail on the head, brother. As a mainstream Christian I find that this thread has a lot of lies.

Some of the things in this thread are interesting, but unless something comes STRAIGHT from the Bible it's a lie IMHO.

I was raised Catholic, but now I attend a good Bible based church and I love it.
