I'm listening to the speech right now, about half way through.

Happy MLK, Jr. Day.
Thanks. Live the Dream, by any means necessary. Celebrating diversity is not enough. Last edited by hijabihippie; 01-19-2010 at 09:41 AM. |

I agree MLK as well as Gandhi weren't speaking of awareness, they spoke of transformation and I'll agree that is only done through inward and outward action.
Power to the Peaceful!

One of the greatest speeches in American history, by an equally great orator.
Martin Luther King, Jr.'s last speech: I can't find it atm, but there's another video I saw last year speaking with the police officer who stood by MLK and some others who attended the march. What would MLK think of America today if he were still around? |

I know that's right, Sage.
If I recall correctly, the segment shown occured after he had given a speech, and laid aside his text. Rev. King's last speech is the one that really nails it, for me. |

I totally agree. It's a strong telling and calling to live up to the G/gospel people follow.

BUMP!
Happy MLKjr Day Folks. Today is a day to honour those who have contributed and a day perhaps when we can ask ourselves what we're doing to help create the dream. In kindness, SageTree
