Alan Watts - Atheist Spirituality

This wasn't earth shattering, but I thought it was a fun way to hear about solid concepts.

I like the bit where he talks about people's sense of self and ego.

I'm glad you enjoyed it. This guys a pretty interesting character. I really enjoy these youtube talks myself. When I sit down to smoke I like to throw on one with more than one part and kick back to listen. These are good beginners mind places he starts from and can really blow some dust off the ole' mind.

Haha that vid was cute, I love the prickly and gooey guys. "Go out of focus and everything goes blooahh" Haha Awesome. Alan Watts is phenomenal. His talks always center me regardless of what I seem to be going through at the time.

Ironically enough, a quote of his has been my most recent of musings "To go out of your mind- at least once a day, is tremendously important. Because by going out of your mind you come to your senses."

Humphreys did not know him personally, but knew of him, via Crowley’s association with the Buddhist writer Alan Watts, who had previously been a member of an OTO-like sex magickal order in the 1930s

LOL, all I had to do was look at the title of this thread to know there was a connection with the oto. Google helped.

I have a 10 cd set of Alan Watts...he was amazing and so much of what we spoke of is now being reiterated amongst the 'new wave' of spirituality, ala' The Secret, Abraham-Hicks, Law of Attraction, etc..

Really awesome to see the pieces come together.

I feel like something was missing from that clip, like I loved it but there's one part I must have zoned out with the cartoons haha. in the part where he explains "everyone is out for themselves they don't care about you, etc, etc". Felt like something was missing in that section. So I'll watch it again in a second.

I love the ending though. "You were supposed to sing and dance". Cute stuff, I'm a fan of watts but nothing devout. Thanks for sharing as always
