or have an entheogenic experience that you were another animal/life form? The last time I did mescaline I felt I was in the body of a Jaguar.. with combined thoughts and habits. Like I was half there and half not.

In a regular dream I have lived as a wolf and felt what I imagine were the wolfs primal instincts. I had very strong desires to fuck and eat and run with the pack.

Could one make the distinction between what it feels like to be another animal and what it really feels like to be that other animal. Is it solely determined by ones imagination or is it something deeper?

I do remember, once, waking my wife up when I dreamt I was a bee trying to escape a predator of some kind. My wife thought I was having a seizure or something, while in the dream, I was just flapping my little wings really hard in an attempt to get away.

When I took 100mg of DPT up the nose I took on the mind of a chimpanzee, or some other kind of non human primate. I lost control of my self and grabbed a banana and climbed up into the tree in the back yard and started eating it, biting open the skin and consuming all that was within. I was completely aware of the experience, totally lucid of my desires and emotions, but at the same time totally unable to rationalize them in the same way as a human could. Then I lay down and watched giant golden pinweels tear my physical body apart, sucking the pieces in long, spiraling patterns into the multitude of centres.

Do I think it could be something deeper than just calling it 'imagination'?
Certainly.
Our genetic makeup is coded in the exact same language as every other organism on this planet. The ways our bodies work follow the same physical constants of everything else. We, as seperate species and seperate organisms, and as all things, are variations of compounding patterns derived to from the given constants reacting with each other. Our perception is the reflection of all things surrounding that which is our consciousness, a transient point existing within an infinitely small amount of space, reflecting the patterns recieved by instruments (our eyes ears skin nose etc etc) manifested by the physical constants, and eventually removed by the same. Organic consciousness. A temporary window of awareness manifested though the interaction of physical constants.
Given that the same physical constants that manifest human consciousness are the same that manifest all life on earth and so must exist in some form of shared medium, it is possible that our subconscious is able to percieve beyond the standard constraints of our physical limitations and the conscious application of 'imagination', to actually experience with clarity, the consciousness of another life form.
