alcohol + breasts

but seriously, i try to recognize when im mentally stuck in the past or thinking too hard about the future. the fact is that you cant do much to change either so its wasted energy.

I live in the moment by habit now, but the important thing for me to remember is "the moment" is where I am here, now. Living in the past is a pointless exercise because it hinders forward progress, and living in the future causes one to overlook all the beauty that is going on right in front of them.

Experience the moments between moments, like the pause of the lungs on the in to the out breath, that space is the closest spot for me. For the second we ponder the presents it's already the past. So just slowing it down, feeling the rise and fall of our awareness.

There's nowhere else you CAN live. Now is all there is. The past and the future are just mental experiences had in the present. It's not living in the moment that requires effort, it's remembering that you are living in the moment, and acting accordingly.

I don't. I'm trying to work on that though.

Seriously, if I wanted to I could just throw the next gay guy I come across right up against a wall and give him an anal assault and he wouldn't complain one bit.

And yet so many people spend all their lives trying their damndest to escape the present by dwelling on the past and fearing the future. Ironic eh?

Mafoo said what i would say. By embracing new experiences to the best of my ability, throwing fear and anxiety aside to the best of my ability, and having fun to the best of my ability i am living in the moment to my best ability. Of course there will always be elements of holding to the past and fearing the future. Thats natural. But whats also natural is having the ability to consciously work through these emotions. I would almost go so far as to say thats what makes us humans. Animals probably dont have any concept of time or moments or the separation of moments into linearity.
