Smile What is the last dream you had?

Sometimes I'll remember a dream i had the night before like 8 hours after I wake up. Other times, it's SO vivid and real, but I forget it as soon as i wake up and try to decipher it. Yesterday, I had a dream my line lead at work smelled weed on my breath. Being extremely paranoid all day, I made mistakes, constantly thinking about the boss and when he's going to tell me to take a drug test and praying the tobacco shop has the QuickFix 5.7.

The night before, I had a dream I was playing a regulation size golf course in my own yard

I know it's like a dead ended conversation to share dreams sometimes, but I am curious about what you dream about. Anyone suffer from frequent nightmares? Do you act out your dream for a couple seconds after you get up? I remember one time I whacked off in my dream; then I wondered why my sheets were all slimy

EDIT: Also, what do dreams mean? Do they hold much weight in your opinion?

Sorry if this is the wrong forum, maybe General discussion?

my most recent memorable dream was one of those ultra lucid vivid dreams. i woke up and then went back to sleep and dreamed i was laying in bed with this girl im interested in at the moment. it wasnt very intense or anything, it just felt really good to be near(though only mentally) her. it was almost as if i was still asleep but aware at the same time. i didnt get any images really, just feelings. it was almost as if i was dreaming with my eyes closed

i think meaning in dreams is much like trying to say what a painter was trying to convey with his works. no one knows for sure what the painting means to the painter but the viewer can apply all of their own feelings and prior conceptions to something and make it their own. dreams are different because we dont "know" the painter. we're observing something that is a part of our own mind, so the feelings and ideas are ACTUALLY parts of the subconcious mind. i really believe that the feelings in dreams are the important part because you can use them to help make decisions or to come to terms with nagging issues. i think that if you can come away with a feeling about a dream then you can better interpret any significance from the actual events of the dream, and use the message as a tool to better your waking life.

like for instance, in my dream the feeling i came away with was comfort and a trustworthiness. the way im taking it is that i need to trust this girl and stop thinking about the times ive been hurt in the past.

cool thread idea, ill post more when they happen. i usually remember a dream every day and they're usually not so boring.

Since I quit drinking, I've had dreams recently about alcohol. My last one, I ordered a drink at the bar, then remembered I was not drinking, but he already made it. So, I ordered a Diet Coke, too, and gave the drink to someone else.

wow! thats some will power rev!

i did ecstasy for about 2 years(i can still spell ecstasy, thats a good sign i think.) and when i did remember my dreams they were almost always "rave dreams". the whole deal, music, lights, lasers, pretty girls, PILLS, i can even remember tasting pills in my sleep and experiencing a "roll" some times id even wake up with sore teeth from grinding or gnashing in my sleep. it was a pretty big sign for me to stop allowing my pleasure to revolve around raving. just another example of how useful dreams can be, and how strangely realistic

Drug dreams can be really startling in their realisticness. I remember having this dream I was in a meeting at work, and I was stoned, and everyone was looking at me after the boss asked me something. I remember even feeling the more subtle nuances of being high. The stoned part of the dream was even more real to me than the situation of it.

I just woke up from a dream that i was hanging out with this guy and his girlfriend that I used to work with/go to school with. First I was with his girlfriend in a class that was taking place in a strange library type place. I asked her to borrow some notebook paper, and she took out a blank piece of paper and drew lines on it to spite me. I was like wtf? Then I said "Oh I know, you want my pens" and then I gave her my "sharp" pen as I called it.

Later her boyfriend drove us to his house which was aparantly right near my house. Iwas shocked that he lived so close to me and never told me about it. His girlfriend went into her house and me and her BF stood on the side of a busy road for some time and I noticed that he was hopping on an exercise bike every now and then and exercising on the street.

Later he drove me (in my uncles truck, which made an appearance) to some strange house where I sat outside watching cartoons projected on the garage, and he left to go back to see his gf. Later, since I was still close to home, I decided to start walking home. On the way I set up my computer on a side walk, with my speaker system, and left it there for a passer-by to use; some old man. Then I finished going home. But then, I was picked up again by my friend and we went and picked up my computer/speakers and I decided to give him a quick tour of the neighborhood.

We drove around all the familiar streets around here and I pointed some things out and we small talked. Eventually he made a phone call and I suspected it was to Ashton Kutcher for some reason. Then he turned to me and said "did you know I know ashton kutcher?". I was shocked, it was as if he read my mind. I told him that's exactly what I suspected. Then I told him it was cause they had the same hairstyle.

After that we almost got in a fender bender with a white plymouth van with two mexican women and their kids. We had a little shouting match and I woke up.

It amazes me how all that strange shit can happen, yet one's bullshit detector is never once set off in Dreamland. You can be running from a pink T-rex wearing a dress and never once question the "reality" of the situation.

^ in most cases it isn't but when said bs detector is turned on, you are now in lucid dream land.

Rev, there is an epic thread at a different site i frequent that is for recovering alcoholics. so many of them post that they have 'nightmares', where they are drinking even though they have quit. some have been off the bottle for a few days, others for months or years... it's just, as they say, your subconscious telling a story. whatever worries you will usually manifest itself in your dream.

as for senses they basically all work while dreaming. taste, smell, touch, it's all there. i love dreaming.
