My thoughts on this? Matthew was a really bad boxer. When someone "smites thee on thy right cheek," you clearly didn't keep those hands up... You also don't want to "turn the other also," since boxing isn't about the cheeks but the chin. Keep it tucked in. If thee got smitten on thy right cheek, thee should be more careful about hookshots, the next time.
