lol... Tolle gets me hard. I'd probably let him blow me if he wanted to. Maybe even more... I mean its technically not even gay as long as we don't both cum

I too think its funny and ironic now, that Tolle can be found in the 'Self' help section (btw him and daili lama are boys)....

Just finished new earth today.

Wow, what a fuckin mind blowing read. I thought i wouldnt like it as much as power of now, but i did. Maybe even a little better.

I really cant recommend these books any harder to anyone seeking spiritual guidence. This guy is a modern day jesus christ.

Power of now is basically awareness 101 and how to quiet the mind.
New earth covers the gamut of ego, what he calls the 'pain body' (the energy frequency inside you that is the sum of all your emotion from birth to now that liea dorment and awakes when, for example, you get mad or upset), and mu favorite part - what the book title calls 'awakening to your inner purpose'. Herr he basically takes the god concept, and breaks it down into complete logical pieces, barely at all using the word 'god'. Its written perfecrly for even the most hardcore albeit open minded atheist can understand and grasp, and really makes you realize how poorly the word god is used.

He explains that concious contact with god (awareness) is your 'inner purpose', and that as long as you stay connected with yourself (aka god) your 'outer purpose', aka purpose in thr world of form, will come naturally and really doesntmatter so much just as lomg as you enjoy yourself.

My favorite part is where he says constant contact with god(awareness) once maintained, is really like the universe is living through you- not you living in the universe. He couldnt have nailed that any better, and anyone who practices concious contact could probably agree.

Again, cant recommend him any more then possible. Best read evar. In 1000 years if mankind doesnt destroy itself, these books will be referenced like the bible (especially new earth). Do yourself a favor and buy new earth and approach it open mindedly. Even just the opening chapter where he gives the analagy of the 'budding comciousnes' of buddha & jesus comparing to the evolution of the flower on earth is priceless.

1 love yall

Alot of what you're talking about sounds like Mahayana Buddhist thought, repackaged. You might be interested in some books by Alan Watts and Thich Nhat Hanh. "The Way of Zen" by Watts gives examples and descriptions of Buddhist ideas which are really really clear. It's a terrific book.

Thanks a lot dude. Looked into watts and now i have two books to order (the other is that mindfulness one by hahn)

Buddhism rawks. I feel like im truly alive for the first time in my life. I used to think shooting speedballs was the answer because it traded all my problems for just one. Now i realize that i can still do that (trade all my problems for one in a way by escaping from my head via awareness) but for much much cheaper and the high 10x better via spirituality. If they woulda told me from the gate that i could have gotton higj without drugs (i equate my present level pf consciousness to something between weed and dope and acid) i woulda taken up this spirituality shit a whole lot sooner!! Lol. I coulda saved myself 16 years of suffering. Of which a few of those years are literally best described as 'the ultimate misery'. I guess, tho, without going thru all that, i probably wouldnt have ever needed to wake up and would have lived on stuck in my mind like most people. So suffering FTW . Im really grateful i can share that with yoi and sage here. Actually, it makes me kinda wonder what kinda fuxked up shit the two of you had to go thru in order to wake up. Ive heard talk of people being awake that didnt suffer horribly, and it makes sense that its possible, lol, but i haven't seen it in life yet. Trying to stay humble Nd grateful here. But im excited and had an epic enlightening day today doing stepwork, something id recommend to anyone addict or not btw.

+1 to that dude.

Watts has always interested me as a person who can put out a very well said thought or explanation.

Soooo..............

Got 185 pages into 'New Earth' and had to stop.

I didn't get through it faster because well.....

I had to stop trying because Monday I'm moving and I thought it was easier to get the book back to the library now instead of through this busy weekend.

Will I pick it up again.... yea..... maybe someday as I feel there might be some tying up of things laid out in the book so far.

Perhaps this book is really useful for some people, and for them I am glad, truly.

For me it was very introductory feeling, which made me feel less than enthusiastic about it's words.
I was mostly left feeling the stuff he was starting to talk about was incomplete in thought or something like that.

And I'll just leave it at that as I don't want to tear apart or degrade something that obviously has meant a lot to people.

Again... this is me.... and you folks are you folks.
I'm glad you enjoyed it and that it helped you along the way.

This was the problem I had with it. He would start off well, but never get to the mind blowing truth he was building up to. I've seen this in quite a few spirituality books, and I usually associate the style with those who are selling fluff, and don't really know what they're talking about.

I apologize toasty.... 'PoN' was laying on the top of the stack when I typed this out... I edited my post above for the right title....

The book I read was 'New Earth'... I never actually touched 'PoN' after you said I should most likely try enjoying the other first.
