In the moment -babble-

Everything I've ever done to come to where I am now. I had no certainty the results of any situation, maybe I rationalized a "close" prediction but there was no way of knowing that things would turn out the way they did.

Isn't it weird to think every step we've every tried so tirelessly to calculate, in the end, can only have so much influence on the result.

So why do I still try and predict the future, when certainly the future is completely tangible? Habit perhaps but I'm not sure completely.

It appears that being more mindful and living more in the present these past handful of months, that though I am calculating the future less often. It seems that if I would have been trying to calculate the future, that everything has turned out more how I would have wanted it to be, without the extra effort.

Two conclusions I've personally come too from this, surely there's more.
1. Living in the moment will take me were I would have wanted to go. Perhaps even more so because there is more opportunity in a future not attempting to be guided by a young and 'flawed' mind(my mind).

or

2. Living in the moment, changes how I feel about where I am.

Anyone else experience anything similar or a similar thought train or something?

The more mindful I become of my surroundings and my breath the more easy it becomes to get deep breath after deep breath, which sends me deeper and deeper into where I'm at and what is going on. Things happen in their own time, which we can't rush or judge what is good and bad at that instant. I NEVER thought I'd be where I am at in life and I don't think it could he any better up to this point.

Thich Nhat Hanh says “People usually consider walking on water or in thin air a miracle. But I think the real miracle is not to walk either on water or in thin air, but to walk on earth. Every day we are engaged in a miracle which we don't even recognize: a blue sky, white clouds, green leaves, the black, curious eyes of a child -- our own two eyes. All is a miracle.”

or 3. As long as you continue to desire to thrive, you will find yourself where you need to be. Forever you, here, now. You are progress. Maybe it's not perfecting a certain mantra, or continually trying to live a certain way. Maybe it's living positively, the best way you know how, stumbles and successes, and looking back and ahead with utter pride, gratitude, and hope.

@Sage - that's exactly how I feel. That quote brightened my night last night.

@Scatter - I like #3!

It's kind of neat because when I was writing this thread I was thinking about the conclusions I've drawn and I was trying to make note of their separations. In reality though 1 & 2 & 3(scatters) as well as sages sentiments are all one conclusion, that is happening still from the same path haha.

So it's really cool to see how you two added to it from your experience's and how I can directly relate to them.

Shweet shtuffs, I wasn't sure if I should of actually made this thread or not, but now I surely don't regret it .

It's nice when you can relate the absolute in relative means......

I'd call that a success Brother.

And nice words shared Scatter.
