I saw a show on Science Channel this afternoon called The planets, it was about how science is looking for planets around other stars and the frequency of earth-like planets in the universe.
My thought being, if we do indeed discover life on other planets, that would have to at least re-write our view and understanding of god. Imagine we contact an alien civilization, with them likely having no concept of religion as we know it. Or if their science has advanced and they can conclusively prove a scientific origin of the universe? Thoughts, anyone?

I don't think we'll ever meet aliens. We might find evidence of them, in the form of radio signals and the like, but given the vast distances involved, and the dangers to both them and us, the chances of an actual face to face meeting, let alone sharing of cultures, etc. is highly unlikely.

That's true, but i think via those same signals we could communicate with them. Eventually we would get around to asking "So where do you go to church?"

I'm 75/25 on the ancient astronomer theory. If you haven't ever seen chariots of the gods(good intro flick on google videos), or the vast other movies or read any lit on it I highly recommend it.
There are structures on earth made well before the bronze age, with stone and metal cut to laser precision. Not to mention the solid, one piece, 80+ ton obelisks that where moved in one peice, set up right, and carved that have stood and lasted thousands of years. Or the easter island statues. Or who knows maybe even the great pyramids/sphynx(dating suggests it's been around possibly before the ice-age shown by erosion at the base). Then look at the bible. God created man in his image from the rib of, etc(genetic engineering?). Izekial saw a burning wheel in the sky. kinda weird, I mean 1350, but weird, eh? Speaking of genetic engineering...Where is that missing link? Why do all of our ancestors found before a certain date mimic that of primates but not of man. What else would be the catalyst for such a change in activities, knowledge, and even our composition? I can't assume any aside from "evolution" which I do believe in, but there certainly seems to be a fast-forward time-span for it according to what we know about our history today. Out of nowere the egyptians and mayans all got struck with great knowledge. Egypt has the first functional battery artifact(how long before Franklin discovered electricity?). What was the great golden ark used for? Was it a communication tool, an electrical power source, or just a decoration with such a strange composition? Why is there chambers in egyptian temples where if you stand near you can hear your heart beat amplified loudly? I believe it was the mayans who also had a sculpture of almost a perfect "lunar lander" or rocket(see chariots of the gods). Egyptians and mayans and even possibly other cultures have been alerted to DNA and it's hypothesized it is depicted metaphorically as the two snakes swirling around each other in tandom(Ironically a vision commonly seen in ayahuasca voyages, I have even seen this as well as other similar ones). This symbology is usually used to reference medicine. Kind of a weird coincedence I suppose. It's kind of funny too because of how many genetic issues homosapiens have as compared to other species. I'd look up the stats but this will bore you enough as it is. Speaking of egyptians - Quote:
![]() Also the fact that Egyptians worshipped the "stars" and the great pyramid(it could be another pyramid but I'm 80% sure its the great pyramid) had 2 shafts that at the time pointed directly to two different constellations. Kind of a lot of work considering you can see the stars perfectly standing outside I personally feel. Well I guess it made for a nice tomb for a fellow as well, but once again, alot of work for one persons grave and seeing the stars from inside. edit - ![]() ever hear of the nacza lines/sculptures? http://www.crystalinks.com/nazca.html I think it's ignorant to rule out the possibilities of extra terrestrial visitation. I've got more to say but I'll shut up because this is TL;DR and everyone has their own reality bubble in which they see the world/it's creation.

Very interesting my man. I'd like you to keep going.
Its very relevant. That's very convincing, the part about aliens being the connection of evolution... And Tut's head... mind = blown

I often wonder how intelligent life evolves on other planets. Say for example, that there is a planet somewhere out there like this one, but only with one continent, with one race of beings, that never had international differences, war, etc like we've had. How would they turn out opposed to us? Would they be more enlightened? Smarter? Or would they be prejudice and hateful towards others that aren't of their kind.
It's really intriguing. |

I think it's possible that's what this planet was like at one time in the very distant past, because when I look at a map of the world, it seems to me that the continents fit together like pieces of a puzzle, for example South America fits very neatly next to Africa.

I would think a "singular" race would probably be both highly curious about anyone different from them, and at the same time highly cautious, as they would have no idea how to interact with anyone outside their own race.

Look into the Mayan ruins, Machu Piccu and all that. A lot of the stonework, the cut, geometry, and precision, all that is hella hard, even with modern tech and tools. I mean, they have inset square imprints, descending in size, delved out of the stone with micro precision. Some of the edges on the carvings, they're still sharp enough to slice you even after all this time. Either the Ancients had some bad ass magic going down or aliens were helping out.
