Just wanted to share this discussion of "life's meaning"
C&P'd from FB
Tiff And what do you think the meaning of life is? Sam basically, just to reproduce and fantasize that our reality is something more than chemical reactions happening in your brain. Tiff Do tell more. I'm interested in what you have to say. Sam Do I sense very obtrusive sarcasm? Sam Either way, everything you see, think, smell, or sense is purely chemical reactions... Any thought you've had, even the ability to rationalize and contemplate ideas, plans, beliefs.. It's all biological. it's all waves and vibrations (the l...ife of an atom consists of pure vibration, same with sound, which is responsible for everything you've learned from learning to talk all the way to decision making and brainstorming. If we couldn't speak, all we would do is survive. There would be no right or wrong, good or bad, as in the animal kingdom in which we belong. Life would be purely instinctual. Instinct being a keyword. Think about the instincts of animals, what is their life meaning? Purely to reproduce and survive by killing and eating what is available. And what seperates us from them? (chimpanzees, namely) I'll tell you what: that fantasy of our "reality" being something more than it is. If we had a real purpose, would you really be asking what it is? Tiff No actually i was being serious. I wanna know how other people think, how they see the world. And you do have a great point. But what is right and wrong or good and bad. How do we know that wrong isn't right? You get what I'm trying to say? Sam Lol yeah, that's what I was saying. Our "reality" is all fantasy. like how we believe we're more or better than animals. Like how we have such large ego's, and high standards for society. Why? Because of some one's chemical reactions? Ya see how dumb that sounds when you look at it from a perspective this broad. Really makes you question reality huh? Sam and I hope more people can come throw in some opinions. Every one feel free to call me wrong and spark up a good discussion. All enquiries welcome ![]() Tiff Just to let you know, i think your pretty amazing right now. Lol Sam ha ha ha that's awesome. You mighta just made my day there Tiffy Sam Watch this video, the vid itself is lame but the guys message is one of the few truths in life (thanks Waves) Angie i think the point of life is for our souls to find beings in which to inhabit and "live" ...every life we go through we learn new things and experience different environments and interactions with other living beings. Our soul thrives to ...keep living, keep searching, and enhancing its own unique identity aka DNA. When we die we may leave a body but it was only temporary and the soul will find something new and will be stronger than the time before.... ultimately becoming so electric from knowledge in wisdom that the soul takes form of a gas and lives within the stars and universe creating new planets and more life. Sam hmmm. That is DAMN interesting. And some great food for thought, however I do not believe in reincarnation. though it definitely seems to make sense. Angie i think reincarnation makes sense when you take in to account the law that energy cant be created nor destroyed Sam But our make up of personality and self identity is energy? Energy can be defined as the capacity of a physical form to do work. So yeah, you can definitely say that. However (just for the sake of discussion) if we had no personality or "DNA," wouldn't we still be here? doing the necessary work to stay alive? Or do we just require a different sort of energy that is our soul? Angie any living thing requires energy to exist and once the body has become worn with age it cant keep up with the energy in the soul. so the soul prepares for death as a celebration to birth into a body that can thrive. thats why its searching for better ways to exist so that it can just build and never die... like a force of a black hole Sam I've always thought out required energy came from digesting and breaking down of energy from food and water. But in regards to getting old and preparing to leave into a new body, why do people so young die? And no one's self WANTS to die and move on... so that's quite contradictive. Reincarnation is religion Tiff Okay, another thing why are people so afraid to die? Sam Ha! Cause it's the end of existence! It's like waking up from a wet dream, NO ONE WANTS TO!!! hah ha Tiffany Haha your crazy. But i don't think its the end. Its just the beginning of something new. Sam reincarnation. Then why be so scared? My opinion is reincarnation is mostly a belief created to hinder that fear of death. Tiff I continually think about this. What we die and that's it? That's what you believe? Sam pretty much. Sam well not pretty much. Yes. My beliefs change quite often tho Tiff I can respect that. Stac This conversation has me thinking. I think after we die we keep living through memories. Cause we will always be remembered by at least one person even if the memory they have is insignificant. It's still there in their mind. Sounds dumb but there's not one day I don't think about my grandpa or brother's baby twins ![]() Tiff I like that. Sam what we've accomplished in our lives, small or big, good or bad, WILL always live on. However, "we" as flesh beings, will not. Flesh is the depot in which the train of thought visits. But flesh can never last forever, so the train loses its home. The main question in after life, is where to go? Keep riding the rails or just deboard the train? I also figured Higher Thoughts would like to share their opinions as well. cause this place kicks ass ![]()

Since life is a means to itself as an end, there can be no "outside" meaning, because life doesn't serve an "outside" purpose. Put another way, the meaning of life is up to you.
