Stars and Planets

So last night me and my friend were sitting outside blazing a lung and i took a hoot and looked in the sky. I sat glaring at the stars and realised that stars are just different suns. And since like the sun is in the middle of our solar system, and theres like 9 planets floating around it, are there planets floating around every star? it made me think how not so bad our planet really is. Like sure theres flaws but im sure on one of those other planets terrorism is waay worse than it is here and that somewhere out there weed is legalized for everyone.. its trippy.

Technically speaking 'The Sun' is a star.

If you really want to twist your mind one night, get good and baked and watch some vids about alternate universes and multi verses...science is the shit when you're high..

Man I remember the first time I saw the Milky Way under a pic black night, in the middle of a lake in Oct up in the Adirondacks

I thought I was drunk because there was NO WAY we could see THAT many stars from Earth....

Now it's like a drug.... the night sky.

That infinitesimal small feeling is one of my deepest moments of awareness about who and what I really am.

I love looking at the sky though its daunting to realise how tiny we actually are and how vulnerable.

yes I imagine the possibilities are endless. Where radically different looking creatures, some far more advanced than us, do radically different things and think in radically different ways. We kill each other over someone's religion and other stupid stuff, so how do we ever hope to join the universal community if we are so hostile to other ways of thinking? Would we refuse to have anything to do with certain alien races if they ritually ate their first born or if pedophilia was no big deal to them, even if they could help us in so many other ways? I imagine there are planets or even empires of planets ruled by one very powerful/rich/greedy ruler, and other planets where everyone gets along and wants for nothing. I want us to become a truly spacefaring species as soon as possible, but when we do we have to leave all our prejudice and preconceptions behind and be open minded to exploring all the possibilities out there.

I fucking love the Adirondacks!

up there was the first time i got a good look at the nice sky too. Ive been in love with astronomy for a while now, constantly going to the beach at night catchin what little stars i can in new jersey...

finally took a trip up north for a couple weeks in the summer pretty much just to see some stars. And oh my god was it the most beautiful thing ive ever seen!

also white mountain national forest in vermont. Amazing place and even better night sky...

I agree with you. We should be open enough so that we can explore the never ending possibilities. We need to explore more because there are still things that are yet to be discovered.
