Question Bong and Waterfall

Got bored, made a waterfall g-bong with my bong bowl, a milk jug, a Sobe bottle, and a pen for a downstem. I sealed the bottom shut with heat and then poked several tiny holes to slow the draw and increase percolation for smoother hits.

Anyways, i was wondering if anyone had any idea why the high from my bong is entirely different that the exceptional high I am from ripping the home made contraption? I mean, its the same weed, same bowl, same sized hit. All thats different is the vessel and some smaller bubbles yet I get way higher.

The downstem literally percolates. Had a bong with slits in the downstem, gave me the idea. And it bubbles so it should at least have equal filtration to a bong.

Heres a wide shot of the whole thing all separated.

Yeah they're pretty cool but it feels like such a waste of money to go and buy one when they're so cheap and easy to make.
