I held that belief for a long time. It only worked for me when things were going good. When I recognized the spirit within and wrapped my head around the concept that we all held a spirit of the divine within us, it brought on the question "Why?"

A Sufi quote from Muhyiddin Ibn 'Arabi Quote:
Simply, without explanation, I believe in God. Now for the explanation ![]() I am not a man who won't or doesn't use the word God to talk about what I mean. I usually avoid the usage because it IS such an intensely personal word. What else could happen when you put all of Existence on 3 Letters? The word, 'God' is useful to me, like a mantra, short and sweet, something I can contemplate because I know the 'feeling' in my Heart, but to say it to another requires more explanation and doesn't always help to bring into things specifically by Name. To me, God the Verb, the Action of God-ing, A Supreme (way of) BEING, the I am that I am! as well as the mysterious ways all life is interconnected. I can't take God off the shelf like Book/Noun, I can only experience, and that means doing to me.. I don't want to just wish people the Peace of God, I want to bring as much peace to my piece of God as I can and BE the Peace of God. This is all very personal and perhaps Idealistic. However, I felt it was time for me to engage my experience of God. I wish was able to more aptly state my own experience of giving up seeking the External in my Practice. Basically, I felt that me hearing was God hearing it, as I believe we're all a piece of the Pie, so to speak. In that hearing, I gave my practice, intentions, prayers, hopes, gratitude, meditation, dreams, fears, anxieties a voice, which in turn, helps to 'create' a mind that makes things manifest or transform.... which is basically what people want God-the External, to do for them. But,that isn't to say I don't learn lessons externally, in some manner of speaking. I say 'in some manner' because, I feel, I'm am an equal part of the World, it's not 'The world around me', so Ultimately speaking, I don't feel there is external. But for understandings sake, I felt that when I open up to 'others', I also am opening up to 'myself'. That doesn't mean it's all instantly happy happy joy joy... shit happens... but I feel that when I work to not attach 'I, me, my' to it, I'm more free and unbound to see the possibilities, even when the 'best' is still bleak. The 'submitting' for me comes in knowing I can't know all that is to be, but my 'faith' comes in believing I have all the tools available to me. Quote:
That is a verse that inspires me. Happiness doesn't mean that I'm always going to feel 'ok' about what is happening, rather, I feel it suggests that it's available to me when ever I'm ready to accept. And for me that means there isn't 'good and bad' but rather trying and practice, to touch my Awakened Mind which sees more clearly.
