Two generations down the line, no one would be afflicted, so no one would care...

i dont wake up every day and thank god i dont have polio, but i still dont, you know... have polio

probably a good observation. the only thing though is polio is a virus

cancer is something we all have the potential to acquire. in truth we probably have all had cancerous mutations by the time we hit 20 years of age, but our immune system is so fine tuned that it recognizes the unregulated cells and destroys them before any symptoms manifest.

cancer biology is fucking interesting for a geek like me

people with aids are very susceptible to alot of different cancers not withstanding bacterial and viral infections.

they get alot of the more rare blood cancers. blood cells are created very frequently = more chances for transcription errors that a healthy immune system would normally catch, but if you are immuno compromised you might be out of luck
