It's amazing how simply taking the time to notice, but not judge can make some room for constructive space.

Rev. Do you mean you were spending too much trying to find yourself instead of being yourself?

Life's been really good to me. Is YOLO true or perhaps I did some good deeds in a past life?

Don't identify too closely with it, it may or may not at all cause difficulties for you.

And in some regard.
But mostly that I've been looking for outside examples of a life that I already have the capacity to live. Instead of going out to shows every weekend I forgot how much I love record hunting and how much more Connected to myself I feel.
Another instance is, I was looking for a spiritual Sangha/ community while my own practise deeply suffered.

This is all due to a desperate sense of loss.
Kindly.

You've found no community to be with after all?
Or are you reaching that balance?

Wish I could say the latter. Haven't found the right "home" yet.

Well, I'm of the opinion that, if one is inclined to be a phoney, then they are being true to themself by being phoney. This applies to oneself as much as to opthers.

I consider myself a Buddhist, but I don't buy into the past lives thing at all. Among the Buddhist core ideas is that of no self. Reincarnation contracts that idea, even in some of the more creative ways I've heard it described to account for "no self."

I think you've just got a good attitude. I think if Bill Gates woke up tomorrow with your life, he'd probably feel really depressed about all he'd lost. A homeless man might feel like he'd won the lottery. If you're happy with your life, then you see the blessing of it, to a greater or lesser degree.

Sometimes it takes a lifetime to find a "home".. Or just the right time.
Tonight I found mine. I joined a special group of people from the "migwech" group in AA its on the native reserve, a very spiritual place..and we celeberated two sobriety birthdays at AA. 25 year and 14. I spoke and realized that I never knew such people existed and I thanked them for their alcoholism.. They all laughed.. All 50 or 60 of them that were there. If it weren't for their sobriety an their trials of life I wouldn't be learning anything.. I thanked them all for saving me.

I never thought a bunch of alchies would be the nicest people I had ever met..

They sparkle.

Although when I am in here at yahooka it brings out the negative.. I think I should emscray.. I am not that way irl.

We should all pitch in and get Turm an official YaHooka 90 Day Chip when she gets there.

Good job, Turm. 39 days is some badassery worthy of a song.

That was so beautiful to read.
Is the group for aboriginals going through AA? That's amazing. Mississaugas?

I think I know what home is to me, now just to find em

Btw Turm. You are expressing yourself very well these days, it's beautiful

I always used to think my own moments of insight were my own.
I'm sure some always were and will be, but now I wonder if God can also have some for me for correction and help.

And if thoughts aren't strictly your own, like if your mate was sending you a telepathy message, you might end up wondering just whose idea an idea is!

Feeling at home in yourself is grand and helpful in finding the other,
but opening up to a community sort of showing you things about yourself is good too, and necessary...
But never something that can be forced on other count.

I wish you the quickness in finding a settled place.

Good thing reincarnation is a requirement for membership
So your Buddhist card is still safe.

I'll spare my thoughts on no-self as it relates to all this....
Just words and experience man, and isn't helping anyone to share it.

Rock on Bodhi-Bro.
