Maybe he is lazy and doesn't do much at work or get paid very well, but she works hard all day every day providing essential services for the whole family. She still lives on his shitty salary.

So she can enter the work force if she wants to make her own money? Great, but now, by not recognizing 'womens work' as financially compensatable we have eliminated the role of the home maker as a society.

For one youre going in circles. The homemaker is providing a service directly for the person who is providing a service for a market. The person who is trading their skill for money from a variety of people that are in demand of it.

If the homemaker provided that same service for anyone willing to pay, it would be a business, and it exists already. There are professional caretakers that are paid to do things like cook, clean, watch children, etc.

I would just like to state that I stayed at home for 10 years.

You couldn't pay me enough to ever do that again..

Hardest job I ever had in my life.

Mentally, emotionally and physically..

I'd rather clean toilets with my own toothbrush.

There are all sorts of stats that discuss the differences in hours worked at a place of business vs at home. And your statement would side with the evidence that more hours are worked at home.

Similarly, when women DO work, outside the home, they also by and large are who takes care of the home-making stuff when she is off work.

It's not that women or men need to be paid for home-making...
It's that their contributions aren't upheld in the same way as 'bringing home 'bacon' is.

That, imo, is what Canuck Wisdom is trying to discuss.

It's all good, man.

It's often hard to make something seem simple, if you feel like it's second nature.

Well that all seems extremely speculative and I'm not sure of the relevance.
