Alcohol and being spiritual?

Ever feel that way?

I've stopped drinking for the last week or so (in order to quit smoking cigs.. again) and tonight I had a few long necks and now feel connected somehow.. more perceptive.. content. And, most importantly of all, it's brought me back to Yahooka. My visits here are normally reserved for moments that follow other indulgences. Anyways, hi, y name is Matt, and I'm full of spirits.

Being alive is a spiritual experience.
Sometimes a pint helps you ease into be aware of the sun,
on your shoulder and the birds in the tree.

But I think it's a fine line between that,
and just becoming a bullshitter.

As for ah ha moments.....
I can't says I've had those 'figured it out' moments with alcohol.

This is my experience.

Alcohol numbed me.

It also showed me a lot..

I've never dreamt or seen so much as I have in the last couple of years...

Since I was a child with a fresh mind.

Keeps getting fresher...

I dreamt recently of a native woman summoning me into the forest.. I then booked a woman's canoe/mountain trek at silver peak in Killarney park right after.

I dream of bears regularily.. I used to run from them. Now we chill.. I dream of a white bear.

I dream of a white bull.

I dream of crazy shit man.

I had a dream a few weeks ago where I was with a group of natives in the earlier settler days, and I was the white guy and everyone was prejudice against me. Then we got in the canoes and went on some sort of war mission. Then there was some sort of siege and I was very afraid.

I dream of lions, not often, but repeatedly. Which makes me wonder if being a leo has any real significance. Either I'm escaping one in my house, like the scene in Jumanji, or I'm passing by a pride way too close but I somehow manage to stay at peace with them. Or some variation of those two themes.

Speaking of dreams, I just switched AD (antidepressants) medication and I've been having some super weird ultra real dreams where l wake up and have to think long and hard to remember if it was actually real or not.

Its not the normal, you are jumping from tall buildings or flying a plane type dreams where you realize pretty quickly that they werent real. These are the friend makes fun of me or other friend doesn't agree with what i am saying. So i wake up really confused until I piece together my dream and start to see that it wasn't real.

This has taken a few times of texting my good friend and asking him if he had said anything of the sort that was in the dream for me to realize it wasn't real.

I could never give up beer, but I've sworn off hangovers the last couple weeks and it's been such a relief.

I'm just musing that alcohol being of a spiritual benefit revolves around a healthy relationship with alcohol where its change of perception is novel enough to warrant irregular thoughts or feelings that serve an expansion of experience.

I personally don't drink very often. But I have noticed that if I'm edgy after a long work-week a drink or two may help me feel more relaxed, which helps me feel more connected to my body and feelings.

This is true of weed, too.

Busch, Professor. I haven't drinked in nearly 3 months, tho. I miss it sometimes, but then I think of waking up feeling all polluted, and the feeling passes.

I used to think I was "spiritual" and had great ideas and all sorts of things when I drank. I thought I was funny and cool and connected to the people around me. Now that I'm sober I realize that I was not.

I was diluted and polluted.
A fake and a egotistical who had a very very sick spirit.

Almost 3 years sober I have had many spiritual experiences since.

And they are real.

For me.

My own perspective.

Still sick but getting better.
