These always get ugly, and I am usually the one in the center of it.

Here's my deal: I don't believe in God, especially the Christian God and the way Christians picture God to be. In fact I think religion for the most part is ridiculous.

BUT, If you really need that peace of mind that you have someone looking over you at all times just so you can get through the day without killing yourself and/or your peers, then go ahead, I don't give a fuck. I see religion as a way for weak-minded people to keep in order and keep happy, so it benefits society in some aspects, but what doesn't benefit society is this constant missionary occupation that these ignorant fucks who don't even know shit about their own religion feel compelled to fill. In other words, believe what the fuck you want, just shut the fuck up about it.

Who made us? If we were made thru freak occurances, then it really isn't that hard to believe that god was as well. This is why I am agnostic, we don't know if there is a god, guessing if there is or isn't is like rolling a dice.

Well this isn't directly about god, but as you may know, there is a smorgasboard of theories about the creation of the universe. Some talk of the big bang, but I personally believe in the Quantum Mechanics theory. Basically, quantum echanics law states that anything can happen with a given probability. Like if you punch a brick wall for a few million years without ever stopping then one punch may just go striaght past the wall without you noticing or stopping your pattern. This basically means that miracles and freaks CAN occur. The theory is that the universe was made this way, one instant there was oblivion and the next the universe was created. So if quantum mechanics allows for the universe and any other miracle to happen (with an extremely low probability, then why could not a god be created the same way. And who is to say that the god was not created first and then it in turn created the universe. Whack, thinking is fun whilst stoned.

Interestingly enough...Einstein, Aristotle, and Galileo, seemingly the smartest people in the history of the human race, all believed in the existance of God (or a God).
I don't know if I believe in the Christian God, but I follow the teachings of Christ, simply because he had a very simple yet idealistic method of a peaceful existance. The man was a philosiphical and rhetorical genius, but I'm not going to sit here and say that he was the son of God. I will say one thing though...along the argument of which came first: the chicken or the egg, comes the simple physical concept that energy cannot be created nor destroyed. So in theory, the big bang never existed, nor do we exist. You can't create something from nothing. Does this mean there's a God?...damned if I know, all I know is that something beyond human comprehension had to break all of the laws.

I believe in God, and here is probably the most convincing reason why:

Ok, get this, if there is a God, and you believe in him, and you die, you go to heaven for eternal paradise, and live forever in a perfect world.

If you don't believe in God, and die what are you hoping for? I mean, if you're right, there and THERE IS NO GOD, then we will all just be in the same place afterwards (believers and non-believers) just floating around (or whatever you believe, because its do to science, not what you believe).

But if he is true, and you dont believe in him you are damn forever to hell for the worst eternity every imagined!

I dunno, believe in him and we'll all go to heaven if he's true. If you don't nothing worse will happen to believers than non believers. God will save those who believe, and if you dont believe in a GOd (which there is one im sure) and if he is real (which I'm sure you have no proof that he isn't, try explaining how evolution designed / chanced something so complex as DNA) then you will burn in hell for eternity.

I love you all whether or not you believe. But I'm just here to say on this topic, there is a God I've felt him, I'm Lutheran, and please just try the faith. God loves everyone. I won't try and convert anyone, just inform.

You overlooked that there are many many MANY gods worshipped. How do you know yours is right? Maybe there is a god and those who believe in god, yet the wrong one, still go to hell.. Theres no proof that there isnt a god, no, but there is also no proof that there is. Im still very open minded on this subject and cant say I believe or disbelieve in god. If there is a god, where did it come from? If the Earth couldnt have always just have been here, then why can god just have been here the whole time..? Maybe earth is god. Maybe god is just some massive power, NOT a conscious being watching us. Why would god want to watch us? No point, in my opinion. Dont get me wrong, to all the god lovers out there, more power to ya. Just make sure youre enjoying your life regardless of what you believe in.

i have my own religion between me and a few friends (we have our beliefs... ;-) and we believe there's a god but he's not the hustle and bustle all these people think he is. he just makes miracles happen, like he makes sure we get our cut of weed... we pay our respects ;-P
