Buddah and Newton

What differences and similarities do you see between Buddha sitting under the Bodhi tree and Newton sitting under the apple tree?

I can't say you until you briefly tell me what happened to Buddha under the tree.

Buddha achieved enlightenment while sitting under a Bodhi tree.

Actually, it's a relatively similiar experience through different perspectives.

The Apple hitting Newton on the head awoke him to his outer reality and gave him an epiphany about how the external material reality functions.

Buddha, through contemplation and meditation, awoke to his INNER reality and gave him an epiphany about how our internal spiritual reality functions (Enlightenment).

I never correlated these two, but now I see there is a profound significance. And both took place under a Tree, which is commonly symbolic for the 'Tree Of Life" and "Tree Of Knowledge." Trees represent Mankind's journey through life...starting out as 'insignificant' as a Seed and ultimately growing as large and 'powerful' as a Redwood.

Newton studied the apple, Buddha ate it.
