SweetSativa's story reminds me of one of my own, I'd nearly forgotten it.
I've told it here before, but it probably drowned in bullshit and you useless stoners probably forgot it anyway.

It was the second time I tried to commit suicide, I was going to jump off a cliff.

My friend was studing for an exam at the time, and knew nothing of my plans. While he's reading, he hears a voice telling him to lay his book down. He thinks it's his imagination and keeps reading. The voice comes again, saying the same thing. He lays down his book and the voice tells him to "pray for funky_unkle." So he does, not knowing what exactly to pray for.

At that very moment, I'm balancing on the edge, 100% determined to die, even happy and calm about it. I try to get off the cliff by closing my eyes and falling, balancing on one leg, walking backwards, running, but it's like walking through a wall. It's like it's physically impossible to get over the edge, so eventually I just have to give up. You feel like quite teh l00s4r when you can't even kill yourself.

My friend told me what had happened to him later, without knowing what I'd been up to.

So anyway, there's a few examples of not only us talking to God, but God talking to us. I can only speculate how God would have tried to solve the situation if my friend hadn't been *listening*.

No offense, but how can you NOT fall?

Do you mean to say that everytime you tried to do it you had some nagging thought holding you back?

Kind of wanting to pull the trigger but not being able to?

Or are you literally talking about some invisible wall that you smacked into?

Exactly, how can you not fall? That's the thing. It certainly wasn't lack of motivation or determination. I would fall in any direction but out and off the cliff. The point is it was a miracle.

I assume something similar happened the first time I tried to off myself, too. For some reason I don't remember much from the moment I jumped off the chair (I hanged myself). I have no idea how I got myself loose or anything, but when I came into the kitchen afterwards my mum was sitting there praying for me.

Crazy shit. I believe you though. I've had saves myself.

I was on a dark road at night and was waiting for my light to go green. It did, but something told me to linger for a few seconds cuz I usually just go. But I waited this time, just sitting for no good reason....

...until 5 seconds later, a BMW FLEW through the intersection because he probably thought nobody would be driving that late...totally blowing a constant red light. If I would have went, I would have been kill instantly, as he would have hit my drivers side exactly where I would have been by the time he hit the intersection.

Divine intervention? Instinct? Pure chance/coincidence? Who knows...but its completely unexplainable. And I personally feel this happens DAILY to us...our course always being subtley corrected.

Similar things have happened to me.. once i was walking the dog on my own and i was waiting to cross the road.. just a few seconds before i would have went another stray dog ran up behind us and my dog of ocurse went for it like it noramlly would do. As this all happened some dick was speeding past the car on quite a narrow road and they must have clipped the other car coz the next thing i know it skids about 20 meters then stops sideways in the road. Im not saying that i would have crossed if it wasnt for the dog though. But i would have liekly been killed if it wasnt for the distraction.

Another one i mentioned before is the circumstances that lead up to me not going on a placement last year to Phuket, Thailand. I was prepared to go there for a year to work on th gibbon rehabilitation centre but after speaking to the people there 3-4 times i was waiting for a confirmation. Basically the confirmation never came.. and i was very pissed off! But thing is then the tsunamni hit the island.

In fact now i think more.. things like this do happen all the time. Most of them i dont think we are even area of. I think the Mescaline Man guided me through these events. I guess he is anothr name for instincts and really a part of me.

). It would make for a humorous skit (the numerous unsuccessful attempts at suicide). It's through this type of thing that you know without a doubt.

Yeah, you'd think experiences like that would secure my faith forever, but I'm still dependant on God to keep it alive. Seems like He's teaching me a lesson these days - that faith doesn't come from me, it's something that flows from Him and my job is to just let it flow. Same with love, which is even more important. I can't create that either, only recieve it and pass it on.

(just had a slight deja vu here, did I write that in another post too?)

Man did you hit it right.

I can relate it to a Chinese Finger Trap. If either side tries too hard, it just creates friction and problems. If both sides are to relax and move at the same rate, smoothness occurs and the fingers are freed.

Our Faith works the same way. If you try too hard to have Faith, you end up either becoming a Radical Zealot or simply misinformed and mislead easily by False Prophets.

If one is to try too little, you sacrifice your Spiritual Body's Health and you end up becoming completely anti-spiritual. Or, if one simply waits and waits for God to send them a sign thats suited to their liking, they most likely never recieve one.

So the ideal situation is to have Faith that God has Faith in you as well. It's a completely 2 way street and thats probably the most valuable thing I've learned on this Path. The more receptive we are to the Light the easier it is for the Light to come into us. Our doubt always remains because that's just a neccesity of the Human Experience. In actuality, its a complete illusion...Knowing is the only True state of Existance.

We can only shine was bright as much as we let the light come in.

Yeah... there are so many different views when it comes to spirituality and to God. I'm not sure that I could ever define what God is (only that God is Love... .to me) but the one thing that I truly believe (and life is much easier when I let this BE) is that there is a road that has been chosen for each of us.... that things will fall into place exactly as they are suppose to when we 'let it flow'. I don't believe that we are empty, that we are selfless... I think that our self is directly connected to the higher being(s) and that we interact as such... reality manifests more quickly when we are in alignment with divine Will. I believe that we fight not only "God" but our true selves/ our pure selves as we were created and as we ARE when we force anything. I still think that there is much wisdom in the words of Yoda
