You don't start weightlifting with the heaviest you can. You must graduate slowly, have patience...after all, isn't that the essence of Meditation?

I always thought of the idea of meditation as sitting still and being consiouc of your breathing whilst waiting for thoughts to enter your consciousness... then when you are aware of a thought, dont follow it.. just acknowledge its presence. Then go back to back to breath consciousness. If the thought is of importance to you then it will inevitably come back to your consciousness at some point.. just keep doing the process for each thought untill you are become aware that a specific thought is almost trying to break down the wall between the source and your consiouness. The more frequent and vivid the thought becomes each time your awareness reads it then i think the more important it is to look at. Now contemplate the thought in your relaxed state and answers will come easily. Anyway thats what i used to do but I dont meditate anymore.. because i lucid dream.

I prefer daydreaming over meditation. I always feel enlightened.
