before the bible, there were people, they believed in multiple Gods... what happened to them? would they be punished? i cant see how because the bible wasn't out yet. this is for people that believe in God.

I remember in the mid/late 80s how the Scientologists marketed the shit out of Dianetics and how everyone thought it was a pop psychology book and owned it but nobody ever actually sat down to actually read it.

Once I actually did try reading Dianetics and I got like 10-20 pages in and it didn't make sense so I stopped reading.

There was a great story on Fresh Air the other week about a man that was a biblical scholar and self described "devout"....well during his research though out the years he came to find that there was alot of errors in the simple re-writing from hand.
He said, if you think about it, one person making a unintentional or intentional error, then multiplied by the years from its first writing until the printing press. You get alot of misprints. After the press you get mass production flawed bibles.
Jewish Testaments weren't even writen down for 1500 yrs and the disciples didn't write the gospels of jesus for 40-50yrs after his death, how much could you remeber in 40 yrs.
On top of all of that a very rich king had a heavy say in a version of the bible. ie. it was named after him because he dictated every last page word and book that went into it.

Rich white Men have been responsible to rewrite and rewrite and keep true the word of god for a long time, through greed coruption, and human error......Based on that fact alone this man is now an atheist.

You just have to ask yourself , " do you believe the bible in your hand today is THE same word that moses passed on to the tribe, and "trust worthy" disciples penned inspired by god"

I used to be christian, but around 16 I started asking too many questions for my own good. Through thought and consideration I have been able to revisit the Bible and find good things in it, but I can't say that it was ever ment to go into one book.
