Proof that Jesus wasn't God

It says in the bible Jesus says to God when on the cross, why have you forsaken me?
Clear cut stuff which equates to Jesus wanting to be God.
Jesus sinned."that fictional jesus in the bible"(will make sense later)

Jesus isn't going to save me. I'm going to have to redeem myself.
Jesus is going to save me. I will redeem myslef with him!

but then again what does forsaken mean?
i bet it means someting like sorry or the like

umm, Christians try to tell me Jesus is God quite a lot.
I went to a private school for nearly 2 years where they said this stuff a lot...and now that im out i'm still hearing it. Maybe it has to do with me living in the bible belt.

So i thought I'd prove these people forgiven by using their own text...

Lots of people say that. They also include the Holy Spirit in this little contradiction. It's called the Holy Trinity? Duh?

Catholics get deeply into that shit. Like how the Virgin of XXXXX is Mary, but at the same time she's her own separate entity. The closest thing to it I can think of is the way Hindus treat different incarnations of the same God.

It's not proof that Jesus wasn't God, it's proof that he was also a man.

He said what he said so that we would never have to. He let himself be whipped so that we wouldn't have to whip ourselves.

This is one of those "questions to christianity" that really aren't even worth response.

That doesn't "prove" anything. You can't discredit a text and then use it as evidence. And anyway according to the bible jesus was the son of god and a piece of the trinity.....not god. I'm no christian, but at least make some sense with your arguements.

I've heard Jesus referred to as God as well. I just figured it was one of those interpretive differences among Christians. I never found it really substantial, he could be Buddha or the Son of Gandhi for all I care, doesn't effect his message and the facts within.

According to the bible, not my belief, jesus was refered to as god.

Timothy 3:16 And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.

Thessalonians 5:18 In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

Corinthians 5:19 To whit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto Himself.

Not proof at all

If a line in the Bible said,"And God said unto man that there is no God." would this prove that there is no God? I see the point you're getting at and I do feel that the line is brushed over quite a bit, though. Jesus is God's son, messenger, etc. and basically perfect until the end when he says that God has forsaken him. That's not very true to the rest of the Jesus character portrayed in the book. Stange book, strange religion, but the line alone proves nothing.

some christians/catholics believe Jesus is god, but I argue that Jesus isn't god, he was the son of god. Does that make him a god? I can't say, only God or Jesus can.

But then I think about the Dhali Lama. He says he isn't a god. So I assume Jesus would be this same type of thinker and would say, I'm not a god. But then you'd have to think, did Jesus become a god when he died.

edit - But then if the bible says Jesus is god all of what I just said could be pointless.

Can God make a rock that he can't lift?

When people ask you questions like that they are usually getting desperate to try and prove that God doesn't exist...most of the time I don't care what other people think about it. I do my thing you do yours...I'm not a fire and brimestone Christian who is going to lock you in my basement until you repent.

I'll even tell you a secret...I've used the empty bible paper to smoke out of...my mom said something funny when I said something about people using bible paper for that...she got a shocked and semi disgusted look on her face and then she laughed and said "this way when they go to hell they can really burn" or something like that

Jesus is the mortal extension of God. His incarnate form. But Jesus was just a man, thats the point.
