What Insights has LSD brought to you....?
I thought this would be an apropriate thread due to Albert Hoffmans 100th birthday. How many times have you tripped? What stands out to you most from tripping acid? How has it changed you?
I've tripped 11 times now on LSD. For me, I can definitely say that LSD has had a profound effect on my thinking. The thing that stands out for me the most after LSD is my changed view on the opposing lifestyles, opinions and overall different types of people i encounter. I've found that I am much less likely to look down on people for thinking differently than me. A phrase that has come into use a lot is that we're all just living. Just living as best we see fit. It seems to me that I encountered the thread that ties all humanity together. Intertwining through everyone and everything creating a common bond. At the peak of every trip I seem to find camaraderie with the whole world and feel the energy of the entire human race. This feeeling has changed my thinking on a lot of things. I don't simply write off different points of view any longer. I may not agree...... but who am to say who has grasped the truth of the universe? It's really hard to try to break LSD down into simple words. But go ahead and try. Hopefully that will get this thread rolling. Feel Free to post your experiences and whatnot.

i've tripped a good 16 times or so, 15 all last year (including my first)... it's taught me a bit about awe, inspiration, and just loving every single moment in life, even bad ones... to try to make ones life as beautiful as it is on LSD is my goal, because at some point my body won't be able to take it anymore... but until that time, i'll be having an "acid test" soon, my bud is going to provide the liquid... and we're going to see what we can learn from us playing music together, under the influence... that should bring us some insight.

acid and psychedelics just break down the barrier between your mind and your environment. there isnt one to begin with but we create it for the purpose of living physical lives. thought and action thought and action thought and action

everything is one...
we are all related to each other... and by we i mean anything that exists on this planet. even we and our mother earth are one. there is no disconnection... anything you do has an effect... the words you speak, the steps you take, the food you eat, the trash you produce... it's a never ending cycle... |

If life is Foam, Tripping showed me that what actually DRIVES life (like looking under the proverbiable hood) is the Sea that creates the foam itself. Tripping simply let me experience what Science claims as its #1 finding:
90% of true reality is unseen and un-experienced in the everyday conciousness state (or better known as dark matter). Tripping put me between worlds where Dreams feel more like my reality and my "reality" feels infinitely more like a Dream. And while I somehow expected this viewpoint to dwindle or go away with time, its only getting stronger, even STRONGER when I don't trip at all. So I'd say it was the pinnacle of change in my life, not because of the drug but because I allowed it to be.

Yeah, exactly you realize that a lot of the things flooding you mind have always been there, you were just missing it.

ive taken a lot of acid and seem think about how small we are compared to the surrounding world. its interesting to think how at any time there are billions of people doing different things, living different lives, people that you will more than likely never meet or never hear about. also, i keep thinking how athletes and musicians are just people, people that are gifted enough to entertain others. and although society often puts then on a pedestal, they are pretty much the same as you and me except that they have an extroardinary talent.

I did most of my tripping while I was going thru a self destructive stage in my late teens, so I had several bad experiences. It taught me the value of a nights sleep b4 going to work. And that banging my elbows on a wall while dancing causes bruises.
But I also found my spirit guides while on acid which remains a highlight of my life. As someone else said...good, and bad....yin/yang. |

I love the headspace. No matter how much I've dwelt upon some problem or issue on any number of drugs or sober, 'Cid always gives me yet another perspective.
I can get a tad megalomaniacal on it, though. I told this kid who gave me a ride home one when I went back to Denver for thanxgivin' after I got stranded on a couple hits of some powerful but visually decayed liquid:"I don't know how many drugs you do or don't do, always have a plan when you drop LSD. That plan may go to shit in a hurry, but it's better than wingin' it." Been wingin' too many trips of late. But normal "reality" is far too boring these days.

It made me realize I could think of incredibly complex shit and still come up with some solution, no matter how vague. Like I saw a meta-image of society, and this society was our society, and all of society had these tracks running through it, and like the magnetic balls on a string that bounce off on another, every action we have has an effect on others, and you can always follow the path if you pay attention. And you can choose any path you want as long as you keep it positive. Being begative can have a crippling effect and can bounce back.
