I just cant hold conversations with people I dont really know...and Im way too comfortable talking around people I am friends with

^ me too...sometimes...bu t then sometimes the other way around...like on aim, i can talk to people i dont kno for hours...but put my best friend on the other end and we wont say a word other than "hey man surfing tomarro" or some smalltalk shit


i have a bad temper and i think im like a tiny bit manic depressive (if there is such a thing as a little bit) or maybe just depressed...the fuck should i know

Yeah I know what you mean for sure...even in person theres just some people I just click with and talk for hours and shit...but I dont know what is about them that makes them easier to talk to or whatever..and yeah alot of the time I dont really talk to my best friends, its just like "lets go skating" or something like that

Yea it's just if you have chemistry or related intrests with them. Happens to me too, some people have an easier time talking to a wider group of people

It sucks how we don't have the emotional elasticity to be social in both cases. It's like sometimes we can and sometimes we can't just talk to people. We know we can do it, it just doesn't feel right.

If I wanted to talk to you I would talk to you. Unless you're a girl. I want to talk to you but hold myself back because I want to talk to you and not just blab to you. Can I blab to you, girl? Will you blab back to me? Don't ever let me go...

I think if this thread proves anything, it's that people with shyness or social aversions really have as dynamic of personalities as anyone else, they just didn't have the right medium in which to express it before the Internet came along.

I totally know what you mean by this. I used to pick myself apart so much that, after hours of trying to figure out what was wrong with me, I'd get all discouraged because I couldn't figure out what it was. Then, it would occur to me, "maybe I don't have a problem?" Of course, then the problem became obvious. I was picking myself apart too much, and needed to work on my self-trust, and self-criticism issues.

When it comes to self-trust, I just can't rely on myself.
